As a couple of friends have asked me, especially when I were to describe a scene that I imagined from a game, but with more detail, or even a re-writing of some events that happened in a D&D game I run/ran, some of my friends have said... I have finally, after over two years of asking around, found a group to roleplay with (pen and paper, "proper" roleplay)
Unfortunately, none of us have any experience in the matter, and since I happen to own a rulebook for Pathfinder, I was chosen as the game master.
We've got an insane roleplay channel! It;s kinda like D&D but it's not quite D&D!

For those of you who are unaware, I am, in addition to someone who enjoys reading and reviewing pony fanfiction, a huge nerd.
Because, you know, writing reviews of fanfiction isn't nerdy at all.
A problem I've had in the past was player progression. Not that they wouldn't progress but rather that they would get too wrapped up in the silly parts to move themselves forward. I tried throwing in random battles but that made the game even slower if anything. I've had them interrupted by interesting NPCs or by natural events, but that often just caused more distraction. I even tried putting an open time table on how long they had to complete a mission objective, but I'm terrible at

I’ve recently been sending out notice/invites to the MLP community for help on an RPG project I’ve been working off and on for the past year or so. My wife is running a Pathfinder campaign. One of the players, her best friend and the Maid of Honor at our wedding, hasn't been in an RPG for a long time, and was never very deep into the experience in the first place, so I decided to give her a good anchor by playing her character's brother. The third player is a friend and former coworker of mine. We were supposed to have two more (a member of my high school gaming circle and his wife), but they couldn't make it this time.
There’s a site I like to look at when I want to learn the meaning of names so I can know a bit more. I like to know the meaning behind names, whenever possible, something I think more people should try. All too often I see characters with names that sound interesting then go and look them up and find the meaning of the character’s name has too much disconnect with the character themself.
