Luna was jealous of her sister's day and she was furious that the other ponies didn't see the beauty in her night.
What if instead of wanting an eternal night she had withheld her night from the world.

Dreams and Nightmares
Mag looked herself in the mirror, her reflection looked taller l and with a narrower face. Her skin was also darker, with higher cheekbones and softer eyes.
She had never look so pretty so of course she knew she must be dreaming.
They're winning. For years now I've been surrounded, enduring the beatings, the cruel mockery, the starvation. The nightmares. The ponies never relent. So little by little my grip has slipped. They've made inroads.
Fear not, brethren. It's just one purchase, right? That's all it has to be. Right?

I read a story a while back, where it ends with a foal essentially burning all of Equestria away in a magic flare, leaving only them and nightmare moon? Does anyone know the title or am I crazy because I can seem to find the story?

The party for the Summer Sun Celebration was just too damn loud. Shepherd was trying to sleep, damnit! He'd had a long day of getting shit together and he just wanted some sleep! Not that he didn't like Pinkie's parties: He loved them! She was one of the kindest ponies and first to accept him, the strange alien, into their community. But he really needed shut eye.
Well fellas and felladies, that solar eclipse is just a few days away. All you Nightmare Moon fans/lovers will get to experience your coveted Eternal Night... for around three minutes. Still, to quote the Mighty No. 9 dev team: it's better than nothing. No doubt my roommate will get a kick out of that, since he's a major Nightmare Moon fan. He's got so many story ideas involving her (and Chrysalis); we might get to see them at some point on this site.
In the new daily chapter, I’ll break the rules of writing that kept me chained as an author.
What if the rules stifle our potential? Wouldn’t it make sense to break them? You be the judge whether the story is better or worse due to my breaking of rules.
This is epic. Just epic. I already liked this song, but now I like it even more! The animation is a little choppy at times, definitely not Lullaby-for-a-Princess-Animation level, but I loved the visual art.
