From this thread https://www.fimfiction.net/group/50/the-writers-group/thread/455081/the-movie-what-went-wrong-and-how-could-it-have-been-done-better - one of mine, for once. You can guess from the tittle it's not my most positive take, but I do try to be fair...

Movie Thoughts (Spoiler-Free) · 4:02am Oct 7th, 2017

So I just got back from seeing the movie (and then going to Buffalo Wild Wings for wings and booze shortly thereafter). It was pretty fun. Since I went to a 6:50pm showing, I had one or two interactions with some youngin's and the parent(s) didn't find me creepy, so that was a plus, and even though there were a few happy shrieks from the target demographic, it didn't take away from the movie that much.

Go and watch the movie. Do it. No, really, do it. I’ve seen it already (thank Celestia for early releases) and it’s fantastic!

So yeah, go get your popcorn ready and watch that darn movie, it’s worth it!

Saw the movie · 11:23pm Oct 7th, 2017

Had several bits I got annoyed with, but overall was pretty good. Worth the trip and price of a ticket. Well, as much as any movie is worth the price of movie tickets these days.

The important bit: I think this movie is evidence that carrot top is a secret agent. I swear I saw her but with a different cutie mark in the opening bad guy entrance and I don't remember seeing her anywhere in the ranks of the captured ponies.

The Pony Movie · 5:22pm Oct 14th, 2017

I don't suspect I'll have anything new or interesting to say about it, but I've been out of the loop for a week or two, and now my feed is full of spoilery movie blogs which I ignored because I hadn't seen the movie. But now I've seen the movie, and now you can all ignore my blog right back because it's old news now.

Turner Classic Movies "Reframed" segments in March 2021. · 2:37am Mar 11th, 2021

Once again, Turner Classic Movies is being the bastion of cinema history. They're the only channel on cable that shows old movies, foreign films (with subtitles), silent films, and obscure cult/underground cinema.

Is TCM Canceling Classics?

Honestly? Full brutal honest opinion? I ADORED THE MOVIE It was everything I wanted it to be! And the best part is that you can feel the love and dedication put into it. That's what I love most about this show, I think, how much the staff loves working on it. It was absolutely touching for that reason alone.
