Finally watched Legend of Everfree and have come to the conclusion that the Humane Five are mentally regressed. I don't mean that as an offense to people with clinically diagnosed mental retardation, but the Humane Five have something wrong with their brains.

Its been a bit hasn't it? I've spent my time mostly working on Newtons Law as a lark, then some Infinite Shards to get the odd idea that wouldn't leave the old noggin' out. Best to write them down before you forget, you know?
Work has been VERY busy within the last week, so much so I've not had much time to write and what little free time I've available has been spent on other pursuits, much to my semi-frustration. I realise beating myself up over a fan-fic is ridiculous, but my goal is to improve as an author and part of that is following some of Steven Kings advice, most notably writing a minimum of 500 words a day.
The latest chapter of Mind Over Midnight is done. Two away from a 'stretch goal' of some custom cover art I'll treat myself to. The fic is going in some interesting ways I didn't 100% intend, but such is the way with fiction. The core is still there of course. As much as I want to start other pieces (currently outlined in the 'possible' folder is 'Captain of the Lunar Guard Story', 'EQG Crossover Anthology', 'Blueblood: Duel' and 'Digimon Redemption Squad') I need to either finish or at least
I have been working on improving my writing style since I got back to fimfiction from my impromptu hiatus. Rise of the Empress Midnight Sparkle has been a great place to stretch these new muscles out and speak out the stories I want to tell in a clearer, more defined way. I'm currently working on a story where it's basically a succubus AU set in a wasteland. Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle, under the names Hellfire and Midnight respectively, are the main characters. And I've chosen to write it all in present tense, as opposed to the past tense everyone is used to writing and reading.

First of all I'd like to thank Estee, some of her notes regarding her latest piece (Monster Girl In Equestria) really helped me gain a more critical eye over my own work. I certainly re-evaluated scenes and cut what felt like cliché content, some of which( in hindsight) just wouldn't have made sense with where this is going and what I want it to be.
Now, this chapter.
I mentioned in my last post that this latest chapter (session 1.25) has been a pain to write. It has. Ignoring irl issues of course (heat, work, fatigue, illness) I've been grafting at the laptop to define the uncertainty in Calmys heart whilst also expanding on his outside life. In some ways, it's hard for me to imagine Calmy (cool, mostly confident, often in control) outside of his office. Even his home is fairly sterile, justifiably and with possible explanation in the future. Still, writing
0/10 - AWFUL (unsalvageable, never should have been made, wouldn't recommend to anyone)
1/10 - HORRIBLE/BORING (tedious, hurts to watch, a bore, no reason to watch him/her, whatever positive things about him/her are tiny and not enough)
2/10 - VERY BAD (slightly less terrible, maybe there were one or two things you liked kept him/her from being a 1 but still very painful)
