An exciting weekend. Season 6 has arrived. Crystal ponies are in this season! Along with further exciting things.
Some random thoughts on The Crystalling:

When Hasbro decided that their latest plot twist pony princess needed a kingdom of her own,
one literally appeared out of thin air to accommodate. Oh, and there’s also this thousand-year-old prophecy curse thing attached to it. Hmm, first Nightmare Moon, now King Sombra? Man, life must’ve been rough a thousand years ago.
Deep within the frozen wastes of Hoth,
As I write this, I am at TrotCon. It's been a fun day, spent some time with internet friends made real. After checking into my room for the weekend, I realized it was a quiet space with a perfect table... and I happened to bring my laptop with me...
So, here I am, sitting in my hotel room at one o'clock in the morning, tapping away at the keys as I begin writing the next (final?) chapter of Crystals & Chitin instead of attending the raging hedonism party downstairs.
Well, yes, Sombra. Obviously Sombra.
But even he needed a reason for things that he couldn't justify as cryssstalsss.
The following is a bit spoilery, as it contains the rough outline I have in mind for "Crystal Heart".
Please do not read if you want to be spoilered, or unless I haven't posted anything within a year.
Crystal Heart looks a bit more into the past of Equestria. It is inspired by many works, but ignores some of the comic-lore.
The basic unit is the Element (2 Ponies), commanded by an Able Legionary (PFC equivlent). 2 Elements make a Lance (4 Ponies), commanded by a Lancer (corporal equivalent). 2 Lances plus a command Element make an Optio (10 Ponies), the smallest normal tactical maneuver unit, commanded by an Option (sergeant equivalent).
oh boy. this is the infamous one. should I skip it, since everyone's already heard negative things about it? maybe you'd rather hear about the fun Discord book instead? I dunno, I just felt like writing about this one now.

Okay, if you have now seen the premiere of Season 6, do you realize just how similar that scene of restoring the Crystal Heart is to the illustration in Chapter 18 of "A Different Perspective"? I'm boggled even if you're not.
Her name is Crystal Star and she's named after artifacts from my favourite game of all time.
Whoever can guess the game gets +5 Stache Points and I will read one of their stories!

What happens when you stay up late into the night listening to way, way too much Porter Robinson? You get a new story, Anemoia!
A story about sufficiently advanced machines. A story about the first crystal pony. I wouldn't call it a Christmas story, but it's damn cold up north, so I figured it would count well enough.
I've just published the first chapter of the unexpected sequel to Somepony Tries to Sell Twilight Insurance. Was this necessary? No. Was it fun? Yes. I only really wrote it to use Jackpot again. You've no idea how much fun he his to write. So, in the spirit of the teaser, here's the first paragraph:
Full discloser, I did not like the latest two parter. It bumped me in a way that this show so rarely does. Not to say it didn’t have its moments (Spike and Glimmer friending it up, Flurry ‘Destroyer of Empires’ Heart). I don’t usually write reaction fics, but as I was thinking though this I sort of realized Sunset Shimmer could very well have a field day with what was going on. Either that or a full mental breakdown.
Okay, right now, someone I'm sorta friends with, Carapace, has been accused of sexually assaulting Crystal Wishes. Here's what she had to say in her blog post about it.
I don't know who's speaking for me or trying to "help me out", but please stop.
I never said Carapace assaulted me. I never said he made any advances on me. None of this was said or happened.

“It’s just a book series… Seven books to be exact.”
I just widened my eyes in excitement a bit. “Do you… maybe have all these books that I could look at?”
“Yeah, check the bookshelf over there.” Jason said pointing at the large bookshelf.
