Stanley Kubrick's masterful black comedy satire of the Cold War and the fear of nuclear apocalypse remains just as hilarious and witty as it was more then 50 years ago, remaining one of the best satires ever made.
Okay, I'll admit it right off the bat. This film is, very much, an example of "minor" Coen Brothers. The story for the film was actually devised by Robert Ramsey and Matthew Stone (no, not that Matt Stone), and was shopped around for several years to directors such as Jonatham Demme and Ron Howard, before the Coen Brothers themselves finally picked up the project, and wrote the last draft of the screenplay. In yet another example of a film that provides the bedrock of my cinematic life experience, Ben-Hur still stands as one of the most tremendous, grandiose and effective epics to come out of Hollywood, and also stands as a film with a remarkably moving story, and possibly the best religiously inclined film ever made.
An obviously very subjective list of what I felt were the best films of 2015 for me.
Obviously, with two days still left to the year, I can probably squeeze in two or three more movies before the year is out, but given the unlikeliness of that, this is probably gonna be my final list.

Intentionally taking the multitudes of tropes and plot points that fill the genre and playing them for pure absurdity, the film revels in it's madness and lack of logic, in a way that really, only a Coen Brothers film can.
