The latest chapter of Mind Over Midnight has been more experimental than usual.
The latest chapter of Mind Over Midnight has been more experimental than usual.
Wish it were Sunday. That’s my fun day.
It's looking pretty polished by now and coming in not far short of 13k words, though I keep tweaking it here and there. Even once the preread is in, there'll be a one-day delay so I can create the T-rated version of it. I don't like to do that until I'm satisfied the main R-rated/M-rated version is finished, in order to minimize edits or changes that would otherwise have to be done to two versions of text instead of one.
I have been advised by no less an authority than CHS acting Vice-Principal Ms. Cheerilee to use the upcoming Midnight Rising chapter as strictly a recap to relaunch the story, and not get into Lemon Zest until the following chapter, when I can devote a full entry to it without any split in focus. No, really. She did. You’ll see what I mean when the chapter launches, but basically, I’m going to make this kind of an interlude chapter where I catch new or returning readers back up and
I've written about 4000 words for my new Equestria Girls one-shot clopfic so far. Took me a while to figure out exactly how it was going to go, but I now know. Without giving anything away, what you're going to see is me completely cutting lose in my erotic writing, which I can't really do in my main stories. People tell me I'm shameless for some of the stories I write and characters I ship? Well, you're going to see what happens when I really am shameless--when I really do
With T-minus 5 days to launch, status of the new story is as follows:
I can't claim to have watched it back then. See, that was my last year at university, and while I should have been studying so I wouldn't get a D in that database course and screw up my GPA so I wouldn't graduate cum laude, I was likely rip-roaring drunk that Saturday night. Even if I hadn't, I still would have been unlikely to see it, if just for the reason that my parents had full control of the house's sole TV on Saturday nights so they might watch such sophisticated fare as Love Boat and
Y'all know that I've been making progress with revising my stories for print. Well, I only have one story left to work on for the first collection to be ready in terms of "Wow all these stories look nicer now" but I also did another cool thing.
The Luna and Celestia interludes of Enemy of Mine have been revised and expanded. I also fixed up some colored text whoopsies that I spotted in the latest chapter that fuckin' slipped by my initial dozen editing reads because formatting.
Just thought I'd drop a link to StraightToThePointStudio's reading of the first scene of chapter 2 of DayBreak, where Luna and Twilight speak with Care about the attack on Celestia.
A little voice acting, a little ambient music, a little taste of DayBreak from a different perspective. Or medium.
Are subject to change, and mine have, but in a good way. The next Midnight Rising chapter is nearly ready and will launch tonight. I originally said I had two chapters in progress? Make that three. I've decided to solve the dilemma of which scene to leave for another chapter by giving them all their own full chapters, and their deserved spotlight in turn. First up is our fair lady Rarity, newly minted dragon aficionado.
Well, in terms of travel, they're nonexistent since my parents told me to stay away. No Christmas with family this year, though I know I'm hardly alone in that. But as for writing...
Well, I've decided a couple things. I think, after nearly four months of doing it continuously, I've burned out on clop. That's bad news for the Unleash the Magic series, but good news for Firefly. And possibly one other story.
As seems to be the case so often for my writings, the new bonus chapter I'm attempting to do has expanded beyond the bounds of a single chapter, and may end up being as many as three before all is said and done. It's not possible for me to finish it all by the weekend, but since a release was promised on Halloween, you'll still get it in the form of a 5k word chapter that will serve as the intro to the Gilda action, 3rd person but told from her perspective.
My knee is improving and creative energies recovering, enabling me to write again. And thus, having received enthusiastic prereader approval (thanks, AJA!), the next updated Midnight Rising chapter is going live late this afternoon before I head for the gym to get swole--about 5pm US Eastern.
IN WHICH I (sort of) SELL OUT
No, I'm not setting up a Patreon. That'd be silly. So here's Babymetal, which is almost as silly, but gold-quality.
Meanwhile, an explanatory rant follows past the jump, if you'll join me.
The new Harmonic Resonance chapter is a big one as befits our Human Element of Generosity, coming in at a healthy 10.5k words. It will be released as soon as prereads are in, and I have the approval of the commissioner on it. In all honesty, this one gave me some trouble as I tried something different in this chapter than the previous ones, seeking a suitable ascension for the lovely Miss Rarity. But it seems to have turned out pretty well. You be
I should have it draft completed for review by AJA tonight. Most likely it will launch Saturday morning, but no later than Sunday morning. Looks like it'll come in a bit under 8000 words. No teaser, sorry, only because this is one of those chapters that I really don't want to to give anything away so readers get it full force. You already know who wins this, but as they say, the fun is getting there! And it's time to check back in with Starlight, to see how she's holding up under constant
