More exciting news — this time, adjacent to Horizon words rather than about them!
More exciting news — this time, adjacent to Horizon words rather than about them!
Why a quintuple here ? Because I wanted to take care of all the revelations at once and they are a tons. Too much actually and so much so that it makes the story go from grounded to a ridiculous mess of conspiracy upon conspiracy upon conspiracy and coincidences upon coindences that just tries its hardest to work but honestly, the convoluted aspect of it all, despite being prepared for a while, feels forced and honestly makes the story become insanely silly. More so than usual. I'll try to
It'll still be a while on the next chapter of Endless Horizon, unfortunately. I ended up reworking chapter 11 due to a few changes to Sky's character, and how situations in the chapter will be handled because of it. So I'm in the process of writing it again ((at least much of the original draft is still useable)) Then I'll still need to go through and edit it. Maybe even have someone proof it, though my friends who've been helping have gotten super busy with life stuff so we'll see what
I'm alive! And have writing news, enough so that I need to do a State of the Author post for the first time in a while. But in the meantime, a quick heads up:
I'm about to fly to Seattle for this year's Everfree Northwest! Expect author social time, general convention shenanigans, and drunken pony Tarot readings in the evenings once the liquor starts flowing.
So, I decided to read Project Horizons after beginning to get frustrated to discuss with people about the supposed value of a work that I didn't know anything about and needed to rely on hearsay to try to make a discussion happen. I know it might be something stupid and it is possible that I won't even go up to the end with this fiction but since I decided to do it, I figured I could share my thoughts as I read it in those blogposts nobody will read, except you Apex since you seem to enjoy my
It's time to bite the bullet! I've uploaded a new chapter that I've been working on. This has been in the backlog for months on end, waiting for me to have a few of them ready.
I certainly hope you enjoy it, and remember, leave a comment to tell me what you thought about it!
Edit: Expect new chapter tomorrow afternoon!
The rain is falling down on the graveyards. So many lives lost against Project Horizons, I think to mysel, blowing the smoke of my cigarette that was barely protected from the rain thanks to my hat. So many soldiers died trying to make sense of that bloated creature that is not unlike the Legate : huge, shapeless, full of wounds and angst and ultimately ends in a disappointment. I look at the grave of Duvet who died of self-induced rage, of so many people who didn't understand how taking two
It's been mentioned in my State of the Horizon posts, but let's make it official: I'll have a book of short stories available at the Bronycon bookstore!
As short as Chapter 4 for Endless Horizons turned out to me, I actually spent more time editing it then the first three that I've uploaded. I wanted to amp up the action a bit then the draft I had before, especially at the part near the end. Partly for the readers benefit, but primarily to show Aella seeing and reacting to the horror of the wasteland more.
The time is now finally there. Finally there to do something what I've been saying to do for a long time. If you remember a previous blog of mine, I said that I was kinda done with MLP fanfics. Hence why I expanded my horizon of writing gibberish. The first story to see that light of day, is the story that I wrote to not write Blood Curse Hunters
Alright, so first let's get this note out of the way:
For that 100th review coming up, I'm not sure whether-or-not I should give you access to the first story I've ever written or not, so, yeah... If you really want to read it, tell me before tomorrow, okay?
And back to your regularly scheduled programming:
That Changeling's a Pony! by Raugos
Top Edge by Raugos
If You Can't Beat 'Em by Horizon
So, uh ... I just hit Publish on something that probably two people on this website will appreciate. And the other one is named "Poorly Disguised Alt." I'm not linking to it because of NSFW, but if you have View Mature turned on, this post tags it.
And I feel I owe you all something of an explanation, and a warning before you click through.
Brief, incoherent author-noting after the break.
New story! So, uh, it's not Time Enough For Love, but before you murder me in my sleep ...
This has been a year, hasn't it? (Spoiler: It has.) And I'm beginning to suspect that I've spent a little too much of it withdrawn and asocial (possibly as part of the process of recuperating from the rest of it). There's not much to be done about the months lost to that, but I can at least make an effort to touch base with folks before the clock runs out on December. In honor of that — and of Solstice, and the fact that Solstice falls on a Friday and a full moon this year —
... a brand-new story drops tomorrow night, hopefully squeaking in under the wire of the Imposing Sovereigns II deadline:
Howdy folks!
I just thought I'd give a little signal boost to a new story by Horizon, You Remind Me of You. I helped him edit it for the "A Two-Faced Charade" competition (up until the very deadline, in fact), and I think it is a story with a really interesting central premise.
Let's continue this last trip down PH lane. We're reaching chapters that are far too long for what they actually say and we are really making it hard for me to not see things in a cynical way. Especially when it comes to the death fakeouts but more on that later. So without further distraction, let's jump right in !
Let's go !
