I have red many different stories in which the protagonist or character of interest is beaten and almost killed (more of the former, less of the latter)
After many, many PM's sent with no replies I decided to put all the ideas I have here instead

Sarcophagus: this artefact is a mask made out of gold, the wearer is completely covered by bandages that have the same phrase written "Pasce Fame" Feed Thy Hunger

These bandages or wraps consume the flesh and life of those they touch, leaving empty husks of skin and bones, if the mask isn't fed (its a sentient being) it will devour the wearer instead. This can also affect objects by turning them into dust after the bandages/wraps absorb its 'life' making it age hundreds of years in a matter of seconds.

The only way to remove the mask without killing the wearer is to force the wearer to say "Non famem pascunt" I Shan't Feed Thy Hunger to the mask.

After the phrase is said to the mask, it will absorb all the wraps before turning into mud.

There are conditions on how to properly use Sarcophagus without having to feed it someone to it.

1) meantime it is in self defence the mask won't require a sacrifice
2) because of its innate ability to absorb energy, the wraps/bandages can absorb and nullify all types of magic, it can't absorb elemental magic though
3) when the wearer is attacked, the eyes of the mask open giving his wearer (yes, the mask does indeed have a gender) use the wraps to see and feel the surrounding area.
4) despite common facts, the wraps aren't harmed by fire
5) if the will of the wearer is strong enough, he/she can convince Sarcophagus to heal another beings injury
6) thanks to his unnatural origin, the wearer won't require any type of sustenance as long as Sarcophagus is still being used

Mimic: despite its normal sounding name, this being feeds on individuals who let an emotion to rule their senses, even if it was for a moment.

This being is made entirely of darkness, making it highly susceptible towards light, but, if fed enough intense emotions it will become unstoppable during the night.

Be warned though, once you've agreed to willingly give an emotion to the being, it won't let you get that emotion back. You will respond the same way even if you've offered all emotions to the being when something happens, but you will react like a machine rather than a normal being.

If you don't manage to get yourself into a situation which requires strong emotions (fighting, playing, hunting etc) and feed Mimic a stronger stimuli of the emotion offered, it will grow weaker until it goes away and finds another vessel.

The ability if Mimic is to influence the material world via the shadows cast, if Mimic (which will your shadow once you've agreed to be its vessel) slaps a pony's shadow, the caster of that shadow will feel the slap.

It can also rip out the shadow of another being, in order to do this your will, mental health and sanity must be stronger than the shadow of the being, if that isn't the case then you will lose your shadow and your prey will be the new host of Mimic.

Once a shadow is ripped, its caster will fall into a deep coma in which no magic will wake the being until his/her/its shadow is returned.

Mimics host will gain all the knowledge of the shadow that was absorbed, as well as the physical endurance and strength along with the beings intellect and memories.

Conditions for best usage

1) Mimic is a shadow so it is recommended to use it inside buildings, forests and other places with little light
2) Mimic absorbs its host during the night when its host falls asleep
3) magic doesn't affect Mimic since the being lacks a body as well as physical mass
4) Mimic can regenerate all types of injures (from paper cuts to missing organs) meantime there's enough darkness for the being to do so
5) Mimic can't touch infants for their innocence shields their emotions by not knowing what's good and bad
6) Mimics host can't be in contact with direct sunlight for it will weaken Mimic, therefore it weakens its host as well
7) Mimic enhances to a supernatural level all physical capabilities of its host, a earth pony can knock down a fully grown oak tree with a single kick, a pegasi pony can make storms, blizzards, tornadoes (even hurricanes) in less than 5 minutes, a unicorn pony will gain the same amount of raw power than an alicorn
8) once Mimics host has no emotions to offer, Mimic will consume its host before searching for a new host

Dark Miasma: this is a parasitic entity that needs the body of a sentient being to survive, if a host isn't found in time, the parasite will degrade and turn into its sleeping form

The infected being, after one week of carrying the parasite, will start to loose all the colours of the body, the fur turns black, the sclera of the eyes turn black, everything that carries colour will turn an unnatural pitch black.

After 4 weeks of carrying the parasite, new traits will start to become noticeable, the hosts body will start to emanate a dark looking vapour like gas out of his/her body but when the carrier opens the mouth a larger amount of the dark gas will come out

All those who inhale the gas will slowly start to behave more like animals, that means that the parasite is feeding. The carrier is just a pathway for this parasite to channel its power and influence, making him/her invulnerable to it.

The parasite enters the body through mouth or nostrils, then it enters the bloodstream making a chain reaction inside the body, the parasite will then invade the brain and hijack the central nervous system.

The parasite feeds on the infected way of thinking, reasoning and sanity until the infected turns into a crazed cannibalistic monster, all those infected by the dark miasma can identify those who are infected and those who aren't infected sniffing the air.

The infected will slowly but surely gain a strange odour (like sulphur or rancid meat) that permeates the air, all those who get bit by the infected will soon turn as well since the darkness they hold can only exit through their oral cavity.

Even if you kill the original infected, the other infected individuals will not be freed by the miasmas influence.

The only being capable of full and absolute control of those infected is the original infected (aka the Queen/King) via telepathy (given by the parasite) or by speaking. Those infected follow and obey their orders given by their 'sovereign' thanks to a special pheromone he/she produces that makes those infected to be susceptible towards an external influence

Conditions for best usage

1) once you get infected by the dark miasma, go to a highly populated city in order to infect more ponies/animals with less effort
2) evade sunny places for the light will make the dark miasma you emanate easier to spot
3) infect water supplies with the miasma so each being that drinks from the water has a chance to get infected
4) infect small insects so they can pass the infection easier and quicker
5) evade at all costs hot places, high temperatures make the effects of the miasma stop working
6) evade at all costs cold places, low temperatures will freeze the miasma and its host
7) if your injured, try to bleed as much as you can (the first infected of the miasma can't die of blood loss) those nearby WILL get infecfed

Mr. Baba: a powerful denizen of Tartarus, Mr. Baba adores to strike bargains with those that manage to summon him. In exchange for eternal agony, suffering and misery down in Tartarus (once the summoner dies) Mr. Baba will grant 1, and only, 1 object of power.

His appearance might make him look weak and frail, but, his power is strong enough to make Sombra look like a puppy.

Me. Baba lacks a body of his own, he uses the senses of the summoner to have a form. In other words, his appearance varies from summoner to summoner.

Mr. Baba's power comes from one fundamental fate of all things that suffer the burden of life. Death.

Mr. Baba is the same type of being that Discord belongs to, both are sprits and yet Mr. Baba doesn't fear death for he is already dead.

Mr. Baba is a vicious and merciless spirit who adores senseless violence, meaningless hatred and pointless carnage.

Best way to strike a bargain without dying or sacrificing someone in the process

1) prepare a small altar in his name
2) put decorations that describe death, skulls, crosses, effigies etc
3) have sweets of all sorts inside glass jars, make sure that all jars have a skull imprint on them
4) for each summon, be it successful or not, prepare two cups of black coffee, one with nothing, the other must be sweetened with cinnamon
5) the summoner must make an object of worship that resembles a skeleton, a wood sculpture, painting, statue, plastic toy/figure etc within the shrine
6) the summoning only works during new moon nights
7) the place wheee the shrine must be built must always be dark, no source of light must enter the same room the shrine is
8) speak to him like if you were speaking to Celestia or Luna, he detests all types of insubordination, bad manners and selfish individuals
9) it's better not to summon him at all

Green Man: despite the name, the green man is a genderless being.

Devoted protector of nature and all plant life, it will use all types of plant life in order to protect Mother Earth from those who are willing to attack her.
