The idea pretty simply. New Security for Foundation is put in charge of SCP-001 Alicorn.(Twilight or one of Princess I am not sure yet) They do alot of...harmful test on her. He starts questioning if this right and decide to break her out....thoughts?

The harmful tests part seems definitely weird. The SCP foundation is actually quite lenient with cooperating or non-harmful SCPs or SCPs they can come to agreements with. Heck, they have some (like SCP 999) just running around the base they're situated in, and they do attempt to be quite as nice as possible as they can (I do remember how there was this one SCP who was bored and they kept supplying it with books and such). Remember that SCP who wants to be the most terrifying thing and scare people? And the SCP foundation simply supplies it with old movies with cheesy monsters and have everyone act like they are scared because A) it keeps it quiet, and B) it makes it happy and it actually is quite the good guy after he feels he scared you enough.

It depends on what you want your story to be about. An alicorn is an SCP is your premise. You now need what the story is about. Is it about using better methods to secure-contain-protect? Is it about how some magic must be left unexplored? Is it about the limits of how far you can go to protect your world? Is it about the possible tools for good vs the terrible price they might cost?

As soon as you figure that one out, then you can start deciding on what methods you can implement to make this story come true. Maybe they can use the alicorn's magic to contain some other, worse, SCP, but doing so could kill the alicorn, and the alicorn while still alive might serve another purpose. Maybe, let's say it is Celestia, and they worry that her death might affect the sun. Maybe it's Cadance and they need to figure how important love is vs a possible extinction event, and you explore these avenues. Maybe it's Twilight and they consider sacrificing her life to strengthen the Horned God's prison which is breaking, and the story is about Twilight using not her alicorn magic but teaching some characters to use the magic of friendship (no idea how that could work yet, I'm just throwing words here). There are many ways to play this out.

I think I want it to start our friendly. Maybe Twilight is like SCP 999. They let her roam a little and give her books to read to learn about the human world but, maybe during containment issue she protects some humans with her magic. The high ups learn about this. They start running tests to see what limits are. Then slowly gets worse and security officer that has been with her for a while acting as security guard for her starts worrying about her.

It seems backwards a bit like this. Shouldn't the tests take place at the beginning, before they actually allow her to roam the place? Not to mention that having an intelligent SCP 'free' comes with a hell-load of restrictions, because unlike SCPs like 999, intelligent SCPs can lie or change their minds. They're usually let out of their 'room' only when it's needed, and the flow of information in is also heavily restricted. I doubt they'd let an alicorn know more than they have to, no matter what. Entertainment, yes. Actual knowledge, probably not.

Also, remember that if tests are in danger of hurting a non-threatening SCP, they don't actually enact them (the vast majority of the time). The 'protect' part is meant not just towards humanity but also the SCPs.

The containment breach or failure might be your best bet of getting something. Concentrate on it rather than using it as a noodle incident which allows the alicorn to be free.

I have two suggestions for you. First, check out SCP: Containment Breach, the game, in order to get an idea of a containment breach incident. Don't copy it, but get some inspiration. Then, I suggest taking a read of Stardust. In it, Twilight gets accidentally teleported to Earth, is captured by X-COM, and kept contained and analyzed. It does quite a good job of having a contained unicorn, though it does jump the shark a bit towards the end, and the sequel decided to go the pew-pew and superpowers/cheap deaths road instead, but it will still serve as a good starting template.

I have watch that game be played alot so have good idea of how branch would probably work out. I will read over that story through. Testing should come first and maybe I could make it Twilight wants to go home but, they don't let her in fear that more of kind may come through or she could possible bring a danger from her world with her? I do love the idea of the branch. I thought about writing it first person from perspective of security guard. His first interactions with her well limited maybe changing cells with her or at times when she allowed to free time they give escorts and maybe they found a way to limit her magic? One day, Callan Andre, a Mega Man fan and genius was sent a strange 'orb' by some person he beat in a game of online chess. Suddenly Callan gets sucked into the orb and sent to Equestria. Where customized robots called Mega Bots work and/or fight together with kids and adults.

Callan finds himself in the hands of Button Mash, who wanted to become the champion of the World Power Fighters Tournament. However, Button is unable to afford a full Mega Bot, and his mom refused to buy him one. Even going so far as to make his own Mega Bot from Mega Parts from the bargain bin and busted parts he fixed, his biggest problem was the Core Heart, an orb of magic that is both the mind and power core of all Mega Bots, he had no clue how to make it. So his hand-made Mega Bot would never even turn on.

But after putting the orb Callan was in his hand-made Mega Bot, Callan was given. Button was amazed that the human was inside the 'Core Heart' and Callan was amazed by the tech and magic. The two then make a deal. Button will help Callan to become Mega Man-inspired Mega Bot and Callan will help Button become the World Power Fighters Tournament champion.

However, the unknown reason for Callan being sent soon reveals itself as a corrupted Super A.I. That was originally sent to gather Data on Equestria soon starts hacking other Mega Bots to attack their Power Fighters and wreak havoc. Now Button and Callan must work together to both live Buttons dream of becoming champion and make Callan's dream of becoming and making Mega Man real. All while saving Equestria from this Super A.I.

A/N: Also, I put a very well hidden reference in the name of the MC. Callan is of Gaelic and Scottish origin, meaning "rock". Andre is of French, Portuguese origin, meaning “man”. So Callan Andre means Rock Man, an obscure reference for the Mega Man fans out there.

Here's an a fanfic prompt for a short story I've been thinking of for awhile. (note: this is NOT necessarily a Sparity shipfic. It can be as a shipfic or not but that's up to you):

Twilight asks Rarity to tell Spike to give up crushing on Rarity. Twilight tells her, that Spike shouldn't try to go for an impossible dream.

But Rarity disagreed vehemently for she thinks it might just be a childish crush, but it represents what all people strive for: dreams.

Rarity would understand what it's like to have a crush on someone mostly unattainable (for Rarity, Blueblood). But it gave Rarity a goal in life, a dream, that a formerly working class pony can strive for. Even if she was rejected by Blueblood, she doesn't regret go after him.

And for Spike, it's the same thing. It can lead to Spike having new skills, having Rarity teach him how to be a gentleman and having a friend that likes to play Ogres and Oubliettes with him.

And Rarity tops it off with saying how it's always possible for Spike to grow up, and to win the heart of Rarity. Rarity doubts it would happen but that's up to Spike's fate and destiny and no one has the right to artifically force Spike to give up his dream.

This kind of ties into my future character-driven reboot idea where more emphasis would be placed on Spike and Rarity's friendship.

Rarity and Button Mash bond over their love of video games. Button hangs out with Sweetie less because Rarity, is strangely enough, a much more hardcore gamer than Sweetie Belle. Sweetie becomes jealous of Rarity's knowledge of video game lore and attention to detail.

The problem is that Sweetie sees games as a mere passtime and it would be too "nerdy" to be obsessed with it. Rarity sees them as a legitimate artform like paintings or plays but this also makes her pretentious and often forget the one of the main purpose of games is to have a good time not just analyse characters or try to be so focused on getting every single collectible in a level even when she doesn't enjoy it.

They both need to compromise their divergent philosophies.

So I’ve got two perspective mode ideas I’ve never seen once before that I'm really liking and won’t stop swirling in my mind.

Starting with #1: A self-insert story told in first person, but first person from a character who is not the self-insert. You would write about yourself from the perspective of a different character.

For an example, using my username, a sentence in this kind of story would look something like this:

“I decide to consult Player 4 about what suitcase I should buy for our trip. He told me that since I have a lot of small items and only a few big ones, I should go with the medium-sized suitcase.”

Now, idea #2: A second-person story where the character the reader is interacting with also serves as the story’s narrator.

Using the example of cuddling, in this kind of story, the sentence

“You take a short break from double-arm hugging and opt to pet her mane tenderly.”

would change to

“You take a short break from double-arm hugging and opt to pet my mane tenderly.”

Do any of you know any stories that use one of these two, and what do you think about the perspectives overall? Would they make for a good story?

Beauty and generosity for Rarity would not be seperate but linked together. Rarity would make items of artistic beauty that would show the greatest virtues of intelligent creatures, likewise for society, the idea of a slave working for a master in back breaking conditions would be an abomination for her.

To Rarity she would think of herself as crusader both for the artistic world and society itself.

For the artistic world she would compete against trendy fashion designers who would sacrifice true beauty of dresses for vulgar styles merely made to make money.

For society, she would advocate for a freer, more utopian society where things like child labor, slavery, poverty, and most importantly for Ratity personally, so that factory workers instead of proucing something with no passion, would make a work of art they could be proud without having to work in miserable working conditions.

TLDR: Rarity would represent beauty in its truest sense both in appearance and for society at large. And generosity would not just be donating to the poor but to ensuring the poor could live satisfying passionate work lives.

I have just joined the site and already have some ideas for stories that I want to try out. Some of them are serious, some of them are goofy, some of them stick close to canon, and others go completely off the rails. Here are my currently best ideas (in my opinion). I can almost guarantee that some of these have been done before to at least some capacity.

Story Idea #1: AverageCommenter Presents Some Pretty Funny Stuff
Tone: Off the walls insane!
Canonicity: Almost no grounding in canon.
Synopsis: Basically a series of one-shot comedy stories kind of like an anthology. But with a twist! Characters will be able to vaguely remember what happened in the previous one-shots. For example, if Twilight fell down a pit at the end of a one-shot than she would wake up feeling sore in the next. Or if the characters met a nee character in a previous one-shot than they would feel familiar with said character in the next. Likewise there will be moments in some stories that foreshadow others. The only problem with this idea is that it’s kind of meta which is against site rules. It’s basically a comedy anthology which is self aware about being a comedy anthology. So I’m not sure if this would even be allowed honestly.

Story Idea #2: My Epic Pony
Tone: Super serious!
Canonicity: Firmly grounded in canon with some slight alterations.
Synopsis: Basically it’s what if MLP:FiM was in the Epic Fantasy genre. Please do note that there is a difference between normal Fantasy and Epic Fantasy. Epic Fantasy stories would be ones like Lord of The Rings or Game of Thrones. To put it simply, Epic Fantasy involves lots of intense fighting scenes, lots of wars, and political instability and whatnot. Not much else to say about this one really.

Story Idea #3: The Death of Twilight Sparkle
Tone: Super serious!
Canonicity: Firmly grounded in canon with some slight alterations.
Synopsis: More or less exactly what it sounds like. After a fight with a powerful villain Twilight Sparkle dies and is mourned by the friends she had made along the way. Each of the Mane 5 will get time focusing on them and how they are dealing with their grief. Some other characters will get focus too like Spike, Princess Celestia, and the CMC although they will be more minor compared to the Mane 5. This has some drama going on, but not enough drama to make it into a glorified sob story.

Story Idea #4: What If...
Tone: Varies.
Canonicity: Varies.
Synopsis: A collection of MLP:FiM what if scenarios. Most will be one-shots, but some will get multiple parts. I will also take suggestions for what if scenarios in the comments. What if Twilight was born an alicorn? What if Princess Luna never became Nightmare Moon? What if Fluttershy and Discord swapped places? What if all of the characters were made out of food for some reason? All this and more in this what if collection!

Story Idea #5: Go Big or Go Home
Tone: Slightly serious, slightly silly.
Canonicity: Firmly grounded in canon with some slight alterations.
Synopsis: The CMC want to ride the big kid rides at the local carnival, so they steal a spell from Twilight to make themselves a little bigger. They get more than they bargained for though, and they end up becoming giants and shenanigans ensue. This one probably sounds like a fetish thing, which I guess it kind of is. However I don’t plan to have the CMC do anything even remotely suggestive here. They won’t by sitting on, or eating any other characters. They will however smash stuff, play around with wagons like their toys, and do what basically any child would probably do in this situation. The closet thing to a suggestive scene will probably be the part where they grow into giants. Anyways this is basically one of those, “I feel like writing this just because,” fanfics.
