ill be honest- definitely not something i expected out of this story, but it makes sense. nothing more unmooring than realizing that your parents still change when you arent around them. relationship troubles can hit even strong relationships, and when youre so afraid of change (as rainbow appears to be), having such an innate fixed thing suddenly change is... terrifying. a very good chapter, and as well i love the imagery, especially at the end
