A Man Undercover
Group Admin

My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding-indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He holds success in store for the upright, is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, guards the course of the just, and protects the way of his faithful ones.

Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair-every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.

Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse, who have left the straight paths to walk in dark ways, who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil, whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.

Wisdom will save you also from the adulterous woman, from the wayward woman with her seductive words, who has left the partner of her youth and ignored the covenant she made before God. Surely, her house leads down to death and her paths to the spirits of the dead. None who go to her return or attain the paths of life.

Thus, you must walk in the ways of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous. For the upright will live in the land, and the blameless will remain in it; but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful will be torn from it.

Proverbs 2

As this very chapter says, having wisdom is an essential thing all people must not go without. It is particularly important that we gain wisdom from reading the Bible and worshipping Jesus. Jesus and His Word are the very sources that can help us know for sure what is right and what is wrong, as well as gain a better understanding of things and be prepared to confront the evil polluting this world without getting drawn in by it. By accepting Jesus into our lives and repenting of our sins, Jesus saves us from sin and keeps us from treading on crooked paths. He also protect us from those who are wicked to the core or say things that try to steer us off from the path of righteousness.

Without Jesus Christ or the Bible, humanity as a whole would be lost. We would be unable to see what is truly right or wrong, and we wouldn't learn from our mistakes or gain wisdom. As a matter of fact, both the Bible and Jesus are the very foundations upon which right and wrong originated from. Particular examples are that thievery and murder are crimes, and that extending kindness towards others is a truly noble thing to do.

In addition to this, people who don't read the Bible or read it but don't take the time to understand and apply it to their lives will be vulnerable to going down a path of wickedness and turmoil. People who also don’t follow Jesus are vulnerable to a life without fulfillment and meaning.

But, people who do read the Bible and take the time to be acquainted with it more than once, as well as follow Jesus to the very end, will be rewarded in more ways than one. Not only can Jesus help us conquer our inner demons, but he can give us a life with a sense of purpose, fulfillment, and meaning. Constantly taking the time to read the Bible, even if it is more than once, will help us gain a better understanding of life and determine once and for all what is right and what is wrong.

Overall, there is no greater source of wisdom than the Bible, and there is no greater teacher and Father of man than our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A life without them...would be like a life without breathing or drinking.
