Welcome to the My Little Reviews and Feedback group! We didn’t exactly have a clear set of rules before this, so while we’re doing some restructuring and refurbishing ‘round here, it’d probably be a good time to formally write down some rules.

Anyway, without further ado!

Forum Rules, In Short
1. Follow site rules
2. No attacking / harassing others
3. Don't spam the forum
4. Use appropriate threads for the topic
5. No self-promotion
6. Keep Mature stuff to Mature story reviews

Forum Rules

1. Follow Site Rules
Yes, surprise, all Fimfiction rules apply here. Here are a few important things, as a quick reminder:

No explicit images. Period.

We’re not a Mature group. Therefore, any Mature stories should not be included as a hyperlink. Use the site’s [embed] function instead.

2. No Attacking / Harassing Others
Kinda covered by the site rules already, but it bears repeating. Whether you are a reviewer, an author or just a reader, you should not be attacking other users of the forum, because of the content of a review, story or otherwise. Critique of a story / review is fine, but personal attacks will not be condoned here.

If you have an issue with a particular reviewer, send a message to one of our admins. We’ll resolve the issue if we can.

3. Don’t Spam The Forum
Our forum is mainly used for posting reviews. You’re not forbidden from creating new threads, but creating multiple threads for the same topic or creating excessive numbers of threads in a short amount of time is not allowed. Exercise your common sense on this!

Also, we have a Feedback Thread for any concerns you might have.

4. Use Appropriate Threads For Your Discussion
Each thread has a topic — try not to stray too far off that topic. Basically as long as you don’t go into random threads spamming some random message you’ll generally be fine.

5. No Self-Promotion
This is not a promotion group! If you want to promote your story, there are plenty of places to do so.

6. Mature Discussion Stays In Mature Story Reviews
If you want to discuss mature topics, keep the discussion strictly to the threads of Mature story reviews. This includes the posting of suggestive images, speaking explicitly about mature topics, etc. Basically, keep all your comments SFW on all other threads.

Requesting Reviews

The process for requesting a review in our group is simple. First, decide who you want to request to review your story. Look in this thread to find out who would be willing to take your story.

After deciding, just add your story to the corresponding reviewer’s request folder. If you can’t decide who you want reviewing your story, feel free to just add it to the common request folder.

Restrictions

1. Only add your own stories to the group
If a story is not yours, please don’t add it to the group! You’re not allowed to add stories for someone else, please get them to do it themselves.

2. Do not add the same story twice at once
If your story is already in a request folder, you are not allowed to add it to another request folder. If you want to request another reviewer, remove the story from the first folder before putting your story in another folder.

Importantly this also includes the common request folder and any specific reviewer’s folder — you are not allowed to have your story in both at the same time.

3. Follow the reviewer guidelines
Before you request a reviewer, make sure they are comfortable with reviewing your story first! If your story does not follow their guidelines, it may be rejected from the group and you’ll need to find another reviewer.

Caveat: If you have a really good reason for submitting a story that doesn’t obey the guidelines, please message the reviewer first and consult them before submitting the story.

4. Time limit for stories in request folders
A story can linger in the common request folder for 12 weeks. If it is not picked up by anyone before then, it will be transferred to the “Expires Soon” sub-folder. If it remains there for one week without being picked, it will be removed from the group, and you’ll need to submit it again.

5. Don’t add too many stories at once!
Each individual author can only have 4 stories total in all request folders at once. Additionally, each author can only receive a maximum of 4 reviews per month, in an effort to make sure that authors can’t swamp the reviews with their stories.

If you exceed that limit, you’ll be reminded to remove stories until it is below the maximum. At this point you’ll have 2 days to remove your stories — if you don’t, we will randomly remove them until the total obeys the story limit.

6. The limit for personal folders of the reviewers is 5. If a folder has already 5 stories in it, choose someone else or the main folder.

Handling Rulebreaks

  • For review requests: if your story does not follow any of the rules above, it will be removed from the group. In such case, you’ll be notified by an admin, probably Nailah.
  • Forum posts which violate our forum rules will be deleted, and a warning will be sent to the culprit.
  • If a user repeatedly fails to listen to admin warnings, this may escalate to a temporary or permanent ban, in serious cases.
  • A user who uses the forum to post toxic / inflammatory content may be immediately perma-banned from the group.

Please use your common sense! We have pretty lenient rules on forum use, so most minor rule-breaks will just get warnings. If you wish to dispute an admin action or report a potential rule-break, please message one of the admins, or contact us through our Discord!

FAQs

What do I do if my story is removed or rejected?
If your story is removed from the group, we will send you a message explaining why. Unless expressly told otherwise, you are free to add your story into the request folders again to get it reviewed.

Am I allowed to request multiple reviews for the same story?
Yes — but not at the same time. If you want to request multiple reviews, wait until after the story has been reviewed, then add it into the request folders again.

Also, note that our reviewer team will de-prioritise stories which have already received reviews before, so expect the wait to be long if you choose to submit the same story again.
