Now that we have our new classification system, I've updated the folders to accommodate them for 2018, each folder containing a hyperlink to this post so people can see the classification system in full.

If you don't mind my saying so, I'm not sure the current arrangement of "Side Characters" and "Background Characters" works, not least of all because of too many ambiguous cases. I have noticed, however, that there are 58 total tags shared between them, which suggests to me an easy and more helpful alternative.

Provided it isn't overreaching, I'd like to ask whether we could merge the two, organize them alphabetically, and then split them into "Side Characters I" (the first 29 tags, from A to Pa) and "Side Characters II" (the last 29 tags, from Ph to Z). The advantage is that this ignores the fussy difficulties in the middle and yet allows us to share the tags equally, preventing either side from becoming too heavy.

To save you the hassle, I could reorganize the folders and provide an easily copied list here for your OP, so all you'd have to do is delete the current "Background Characters" and "Side Characters" sections, and copy-paste this new classification in. I could take care of the rest.

What I propose is given below. If you agree, just reply to this comment indicating as such, and I'll get to work as soon as I see it.

I don't think the monthly events pose a problem. Given their size, we would have been forced to subdivide anyway; Masterweaver discussed giving each of the two categories two months apiece, to reflect their huge size compared with the others. So as far as I can tell, if we categorized them as "Side Characters I" and "Side Characters II", then nothing would really change for those four particular months.
