In Rock Solid Friendship, Pinkie Pie, Maud Pie, and Starlight Glimmer all learn important lessons, but Pinkie most of all as the most friendly of all ponies aims to convince her sister—the newly graduated Doctor of Rockology, Maudeline Daisy Pie—to choose to live in Ponyville. When Maud admits that a deciding factor for choosing Ponyville would be that she makes a friend there, Pinkie Pie tries to micromanage finding a new friend to assure they bond. Unfortunately, Pinkie Pie goes overboard in her meddling and almost ruins everything.

Prompts:

Maud's graduation is notably devoid of fellow students, but it turns out the reason isn't the "obvious" that she is the only student. Instead, she is the only surviving student. (Keep in mind the scenes of Maud in Ghastly Gorge, helping evil Starlight, and instantly saving everypony with Daring-Doo aplomb from the cave-in Pinkie caused.

Maud and Spike actually were friends. Tell the gem-related fiasco that may have something to do with the Diamond Dogs.

Rarity and Coloratura are friends, and Rarity is designing her a new wardrobe. Thanks to Maud's revelation that her gems were "common," Rarity is convinced that her newest couture won't measure up for the pop star. When Coloratura's dresses are late, she chases Rarity into wilderness to convince her that perfection is in the eyes of the beholder.

Let’s definitely tell the story where Maud helps Starlight enslave a town. Be sure to (1) depict Starlight as believing that removing Cutie Marks actually saves ponies and (2) that neither she nor Maud consider it evil for their own very special reasons.

Extra credit (optional): This episode illustrates a good plot development skill: Worsening. Everything the protagonist does, even if she solves a problem, leaves the situation worse than ever, i.e., further from her goals or in a more dangerous situation, etc. Use worsening in your story.
