Michael Keaton stars in THE FOUNDER as Ray Kroc (1902-1984), the man who joined the small family restaurant McDonald's in 1954 and built it into the most successful fast food operation in the world. Kroc was included in Time 100: The Most Important People of the Century, and amassed a fortune during his lifetime. Kroc owned the San Diego Padres baseball team from 1974 until his death in 1984. Nick Offerman and John Carroll Lynch co-star as McDonald's founders Richard and Maurice McDonald.

The film premiered in the United States at Arclight Hollywood on December 7, 2016 and will open nationwide on Friday. The film was however released earlier in Australia and New Zealand on November 24, 2016.
