Part of what makes Stellaris, and by extension most Paradox titles, so much fun is the story telling. The great tales of the trials and tribulations of your fledgling Space Empire.

So I figured why not share some of my own? Hell, why not start a thread where everyone can post their funny/amazing/astounding/ect. stories? So here it is!

First of all, the story of SPACE BRITAIN

The Commonwealth of Earth was a peaceful nation. Humanity had risen from the home planet of Earth united under the banner of the United Kingdom. They had taken to the Hyperlanes and began a rapid expansion. Things went fine for the first 17 years. Peaceful contact was made with several alien races. The Commonwealth expanded to include seven colonies. Everything was going fine.

Until humanities northern rival, the Thaxian Collective, decided to intervene that was.

They struck quickly. On February 8th, 2218 the war wasn't even a week old when 6 Thaxian Destroyers and over 20 corvettes appeared in Earth's orbit, decimating the small Home Fleet of the Royal Navy and blowing the orbiting spaceport out of the sky. They blockaded the planet and began landing troops.

The First Battle of Earth was a long hard and bloody affair. Despite the enemy fleet in orbit Earth's defenders put up a valiant fight. It took three years for the homeworld of humanity to fall.

These three years were well spent by the colonies. Small, quickly built battle groups of corvettes used the speed advantage of the Hyperdrives over Warp-drives to conduct hit and run raids on enemy reinforcements heading towards Earth. Small skirmishes went back and forth.

Soon after Earth fell the Thaxians turned their attention to the biggest colony: Anglica. The Royal Navy, forwarned, fled in the face of the numerically superior Thaxian Fleet. Anglica fell in a month.

Next n the list was Britannia. Once again the Thaxians bigger fleet sent the Royal Navy running. However, Britannia put up a fight that gave Earth a run for it's money. For two years the Thaxian Fleet blockaded the small planet, it's defenders repelling landing after landing. For two years all hope seemed lost.

July 16th, 2224. A day which will be remembered as the turning point. A newly constructed fleet of 5 Cruisers, 17 Destroyers and 32 Corvettes of the Royal Navy dropped out of hyperspace and engaged a Thaxian fleet of two Cruisers, 23 Destroyers and 7 Corvettes in what is now known as the Battle of Britannia. The Royal Navy ships, now equipped with point defences to deal with the torpedoes so heavily favoured by the Thaxians, won a resounding victory.

The now so called "Battlefleet Victory" continued to be reinforced by a never ending steam of newly built ships, and took to the offensive. At the Second Battle of Anglica the Thaxians put up a hard fight. By the end Anglica was back in Commonwealth hands, but Battlegroup Victory was reduced to only a Cruiser and two Destroyers. In the next seven years there were no more than sixteen major engagements in the Anglica system, and dozens of smaller battles in the surrounding systems.

On May 23rd, 2231 the Battlegroups Liberator, Annihilator, and Slasher dropped out of hyperspace in the Sol system. Over a hundred Commonwealth ships fought the largest space battle of the war over Earth, against over a hundred Thaxian defenders. The battle itself lasted three months, and ended with massive losses on both sides.

But Earth was liberated.

At that point the empire to the north of the Thaxians, the Zephyr Republic, entered the war on the side of the Commonwealth.

Unable to fight a war on two fronts, the Thaxians sued for peace six months later.

After 13 years of war the First Thaxian-Commonwealth war ended in victory for Humanity.

...And I was really happy. I was all like: "Yeah, thats right! FUCK YOU! Don't fuck with the Commonwealth of Earth! HELL YEAH!"
