Well, not sure about the rest of you, but I think I'm gonna take that Scootaloo line a bit differently. I think she does have parents, I just think that they're either never around as much as she'd like, or they don't support her as much as she thinks they should, which would explain why she's so attached to Rainbow Dash. Scootaloo in a lot of ways, still tries to be like Rainbow Dash, so it's not too much of a stretch to assume she'd want her parents to be like Rainbow Dash, and would be frustated that they aren't.
