Why is this a thing? When Ruby went from 1.9 to 2.0, it was recommended to go to the latest version and, except for critical fixes, work was stopped on 1.x series.

But Python having two active development lines (2.7 and 3.4 currently) makes it confusing to new users and I hate it!
