This group is for stories that take place in the same universe as Kingdom of Avia.
In the AviaVerse:
Various species have their own kingdoms, and the stories focus mainly on the warlike wild horse kingdom of Avia, though there are some scenes and sidestories in Equestria.
Note: there is no Nightmare Moon in the AviaVerse, and the pony princesses Celestia and Luna are actually the result of a wild horse pegasus and Saddle Arabian unicorn cross (but the ponies don't know that). Luna is more warlike, and Celestia prefers diplomacy (also a note: in the AviaVerse horns and wings are recessive genes (though draft-type build/strength is the 'default'), so alicorns, while rare, are NOT god-like in any way). Also, the Mane Six (plus Spike) at most cameo- in the AviaVerse, they are simply citizens of Equestria rather than national heroes (the Avia wild horses and their allies are more on the national-hero side of things).
Kingdoms are separated by 'wildlands' filled with bandits and large predatory animals. Travelers need to be very careful, and the young of almost any species has a very low chance of surviving to adulthood due to predation and/or competition.
There are underground tunnels between kingdoms that lead to not only kingdoms on the mainland but also to the ports. Originally, these tunnels were safe, but now the bandits have taken them over and run gladiator battles to the death in them, kidnapping travelers and making them fight.
In this AU: Discord is a bloodthirsty carnivore and demon. King Sombra is a cruel dark mage who dabbles in necromancy, rules by fear, and is a serial user of deathtraps- even has a deathtrap-filled labyrinth he can see from his throne room. The Changelings are actual vampires- they drain their victims' emotions to 'break' them and then they drain them of blood. Also, Equestria's elements of harmony and the Crystal Kingdom's crystal heart have been corrupted by dark magic, and anyone who touches them will become a mindless slave to the Unholy Triad of Discord, Sombra, and Chrysalis.
If the AviaVerse ever becomes popular, I'll probably change this to "anyone can join"
