In the USA, joykills want to make sure that children do not enjoy childhood because religion says so. their biggest target is Halloween:

The idea of Halloween is that all children go out at night without adult supervision and go door-t-door and ask strangers for tricks (scares) or treats (candy).

For decades, joykills have tried to scare parents into not letting children Trick-Or-Treat with baseless rumours such as child-molestors (the only time a child-molestor abduced a Trick-Or-Treater was in the 1970s), poisoned candy (never occurred). sharps in candy (rarely occurs with no fatalities, et cetera. Last year, te joykills brought up SARS-CoV-2:

We certainly do not want to spread disease, but the perfect activity for nation fighting a respiratory pandemic is an outdoor activity, where everypony is spaced far apart, and everypony wears a respiratory mask. Halloween, already met the 1st 2 conditions, and we can easily wear respiratory masks under costume-masks.

This year, the CDC acknowledged that if all who can be vaccinated are vaccinated, everypony wears masks, and all Trick-Or-Treating is outside, the odds of an adult handing out candy, or a Trick-Or-Treater getting infected is less than .1%.
