On the subject of automobiles, what are your feelings on automobile-based destruction?

Demolition derby has interested me since I was a kid. Even after a derby driver accurately summarized the odd concept of the sport regarding how the vehicles are prepped:

“So, the driver is sitting next to a box of acid [battery], a box of gas [fuel tank], riding around crashing into people, and this is safe?”

Maybe it’s the often flamboyant liveries that first pulled me in.

Taking demolition derby’s basic concept of intentionally crashing into other cars and turning the speed way up, and you get my first experience with vehicular combat.

Simple form of causing destruction: race way above the speed limit while using whatever you’re driving like a battering ram. But the results, and experience... I love it.

Which leads me to my personal favorite form of vehicular destruction. Music please...
