A strategist human gets pulled to Equestria by Nightmare Moon in order to help her secure the throne from Celestia after a few centuries of hiding behind the mask that is Luna. He determines that the best course of action is to take down Celestia and the rest of Canterlot first as they are the main wall between victory and failure. Then he determines that the next big threats are going to be, in no particular order, Crystal Kingdom, Friendship Federation (Mane Six), Changeling Swarm (before S6 finale), Dragons, and Griffons. The Griffons he thinks could be won over by offering better trade routes, and the Changelings by allowing them to have the Crystal Kingdom for feeding grounds after they fall. The rest is just a bunch of fighting the other major powers and then the rest of the world.

5609219 Discord would be part if the Friendship Federation. And for helping Nightmare Moon attain victory, she would give the character the choice of staying with her or returning home. And the character, sorry for saying he in the initial preview, would just out chaos him. A kind of magic duel, but since the character wouldn't have magic, Discord would have one of two choices. Forfeit or give them magic.

If Discord was on their side, do they even need a strategist? Discord could just snap his fingers and they would win.

5610526 Discord isn't fighting with Nightmare. The character DOESN'T HAVE TO STAY. And by the time Celestia even realized that the human even WANTED to go home, she'd have been defeated. Or Nightmare Moon would've.
