I wasn't aware you weren't allowed to write in screenplay format. I don't see any particular rules against it unless you're considering screenplay to be script like below:
"Stories in chat or script format. This includes stories in which characters speaking is indicated similar to this: 'TWILIGHT: I sure do love books!'"
I think that would be referring to a story written like a skype conversation. However, if that is the case and a valid form writing is being frowned upon, then there might be an issue.
