Words give hope, give reason, give meaning to that which has none. They build ponies up and make them strong. But words can hurt, can break one's spirit more than any strike or blow. They can warp minds and change ponies for the worse. Especially when those words come from somepony they thought was a friend.

Rarity knows this far too well. After what happened at the Wonderbolt's Academy, an old friend comes to visit, bringing up painful memories.

When she looks into her friend's eyes, all she can see is arrogance, ruthlessness, egotism, and - the most devastating one of all - a deep seated pain.
