Located by the gardens sits a tall cobblestone building, with vines climbing up the walls. The entrance has a Greek motif, with a staircase leading up to two large doors, marble columns on both sides, engraved with a picture of a horned owl. Through these doors lies the Sapphire Owl dorm.
Inside the dorm is a simple, geometric hallway which serves as the main entrance hall. There are doors on either side, and in front of you is a floating metallic blue stairway which leads to the Sapphire Owl common room.
The door to the left leads to a sitting room connected to a huge library that dominates the complex. The sitting room has tables, soft blue chairs you could easily sit in for hours, and a couch or two. There are filing cabinets in the back, and a magical checkout desk near the entrance. Otherwise, there are rows and rows of oak bookcases, with the occasional table and chair scattered among them. At any time, there are usually half a dozen students browsing through the shelves and occupying a few of the seats.
Now, if you had made a right rather then a left back in the entrance hall, you would have found yourself in another hallway. To the north are doors to a set of showers and bathrooms, divided by sex, layed out with blue tile. The door to a laundry room lies on the other side, and continuing on is a small student laboratory.
The lab is divided into areas for different disciplines. One area for chemistry, another for physics, magic, and even a small greenhouse. Not to mention a study area with desks and chairs that is otherwise free of distractions. A door leads outside to a small grassy area, with an assortment of flowers and lined with cherry, apple, and lemon trees. Someone appears to have planted a small herb garden by the building.
Going back to the main hall and forward into the common room, you would find a cozy area with cushions and comfortable blue fabric chairs you just want to curl up and go to sleep on. In the back wall is a bookshelf containing a free book library based on the premise of trading any book there you are interested in for one of your own.
On one wall are a few chairs and tables, and the other has another staircase leading to a hallway. Both sides have doorways leading to the students rooms, mares on one side and stallions to the other.
Entering any of these rooms, you would find a desk and chair on one side, a small personal bookshelf, and a princess-sized mattress. A few of them also have a window with curtains overlooking the gardens. The room is decorated in white and blue.
At the end of the hall is a bulletin board where room assignments are posted as follows:
Sapphire Owl Dorm: Room 1: ---- Room 2: ----
Additionally, if you go all the way back out the main entrance, you will find paths that easily take you down to the main hall, or the courtyard in the center of the school.
