If I'm correct, guitar has more known used tunings than any other instrument out there. They come in many varieties, from open tunings to flat tunings, etc. With that said, to any guitar players out there, which is your favorite tuning?

I've noticed that preferred tunings vary with the music played, i.e. Folk music often uses open tunings, metal heads usually like standard E and drop tuning, and so on and so forth. Personally, I play "modern" metal all the time, so my favorite tuning would be drop C. It can reach down into the lower ranges of a guitar while still holding on to some of the things standard E can do, albeit with a different tone.

C# Standard is what I use, since my songs are mainly metal.
