Reviving Dead Tropes 7 members · 3 stories

You know all the tropes that people tell you to avoid like the plague, because they're "too common"? Well, over time, as this advice spreads, what was once a common trope becomes an endangered species, but a species that is offered no protection because it is still widely frowned upon and nobody even properly remembers the more practical and rational reasons why it was frowned upon in the first place, thus what was once common sense almost becomes a religion of idea destruction.

Here, all the endangered tropes get preserved, and the dead tropes get revived, because while I'm a self-proclaimed non-conformist, let's face it: No matter how mainstream it was last year, if it's rare or dead, then it's a non-mainstream, non-conformist trope to use.
