Here at The Good OCxCanon List, we don't just take everything. This group is intended to be a showcase for the best and brightest stories, and as such, we have a few rules:

To submit a story, simply add your fic to the "Incoming" folder. One of the mods will read it, review it, and if it passes, it will be added to the appropriate folder.

What you shouldn't submit:

1. Stories that don't involve a romance with an OC. Yes, this includes background ponies. Should be fairly self-explanatory. If your story has an OC paired up with a canon character but lacks the "Romance" tag, then submit it anyways. We will handle such things on a case-by-case basis.

2. Stories with less than an 80% like ratio. What do I mean? It's simple. To calculate your rating, simply and up your story's likes+dislikes, then calculate the percentage of likes. For example, my story Double Rainbow has 44 likes, 9 dislikes, giving it a total score of 53. 44 is around 82% of 53, making it qualified to be in here if it was an OC romance, and not, y'know, Twidash.

Don't even think about submitting a story if it doesn't meet these rules.

What The Mods Look For:

Grammar and spelling. You're allowed to have a few errors in your fics- we're not EqD- but after more than a few, it likely won't be accepted.

Good characterization and plot. This is the single most important thing. Your OC must be a well-developed character who avoids most of the common Mary Sue traits, and the romance with a canon character must progress at a realistic rate.

The group has the word "good" in the title for a reason.

Writing style. Put it simply, your prose must be engaging and thoughtful. Overly purple or beige prose will not be allowed.
