If something like Aryanne goes public we are fucking screwed. Mom's the word.

https://www.themorningbulletin.com.au/news/if-you-give-hitler-country-homework-assignment-sho/3288274/

Obviously they haven't seen the truest capabilities of Germany's engineering prowess:

GIVE ME THAT A

I find the article extremely funny

6241772
S E K A I I C H I I I I I ! ! !

After reading the article, I think people are missing the point. What did other countries do to ignore the threat? Hitler invades other countries, oh no big, Germany is just reclaiming lands that used to be theirs. Hitler persecutes Jews, no big, he is just punishing the rich for stealing from the poor and keeping them in poverty. And on and on...

Could the assignment been done better, yes. Should they have done something besides turn Hitler into a carton, yes. Should they teach kids the dangers of Socialism, yes.

why the pony on there tho?

6241783
I don't know. For all we know, the teacher might actually be a member of fimfiction.

You're late to the "hitler homework" thing
Already saw 2 other threads about this

Meh, the fandom gets away with fanfics and artwork of underage cartoon-horse rape...

Anyway, we all know who's behind this obvious false flag...

6241782

Should they teach kids the dangers of Socialism, yes.

:facehoof:

Maybe instead we should teach kids what socialism is, because nobody seems to know...

Socialism isn't bad. Totalitarianism that calls itself socialist is.

6241804
The proper answer is it doesn't work.

6241804
so·cial·ism
ˈsōSHəˌlizəm/
noun
a political and economic theory of social organization that advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

synonyms: leftism, welfarism;
policy or practice based on the political and economic theory of socialism.

synonyms: leftism, welfarism;
(in Marxist theory) a transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of communism.

(The above from online dictionary)

Part of the problem is not that people don't know what it is, but that socialism masks itself as class warfare. Helping the little guy, making things fair.

Socialism often fails because the producers get tired of having their stuff taken to provide for those that don't produce. Even as far back as the Pilgrims, they originally tried a system where everyone shared. It quickly broke down as people stoped working, just wanting the hand out. That is why you see, in many cases, Totalitarianism and Socialism go hand in hand, because you need a strong police state to enforce it.

And I just realized that I am getting off topic of the OP, sorry, going to stop now.

6241810
Capitalism to a degree, under controlled status. Not perfectly but it certainly has a better record than the other.

6241811
Socialism also fails because what the socialists claim it will do usually doesn't turn out the way it's expected.

Socialism is perfect for have minded insects and robots/computers. Not so much for humans.

MFW this turns to another capitalism vs socialism thread

6241841
Considering we started off with Hitler and Hitler pics, I think this goes well.

6241843
Yeah, wait till they get to eugenics when the misanthropes come.

6241863
I don't know, these kind of guys don't have a very happy relationship with me so far. I don't know how much they'd want to prattle around in a thread made by me.

Of course, now I just summoned them, didn't I?

6241868
Yeah I saw a few of your threads, but they ,much like a plague can only be avoided with luck.
Or shitposting.

6241811

Considering how production thoroughly relies on automation and machinery nowadays, requiring little to no police enforcement aside from the usual health regulations, Socialism may have a foothold for legitimancy. Hell, it’s possible it could end up being necessary if people are booted out of their jobs by robots.

6241811

but that socialism masks itself as class warfare.

Totalitarianism and Socialism go hand in hand...

You're joking, right?

6241770
I found the assignment rather interesting, or maybe it's just me that enjoys 'what if' scenarios.

6241902
Two quotes and nether of then are a complete sentence.

Your joking, right.

The problem with "socialism is bad" is that it's a blanket statement that is most frequently used to deny the possibility of thought/discussion on the topic.

Insurance is socialist in design.
Welfare is socialist in design.
Disaster relief is socialist in design.
United States Social Security is socialist in design.

So saying "socialism is bad" and leaving it at that is potentially very harmful to the things we in the US hold near and dear, and which - despite their existing flaws - are much better than not having them.

Yes, socialism as a governing concept is currently unworkable - human nature makes it questionably tenable - but modified forms are very helpful. Similarly, we rely on modified forms of capitalism because the pure forms are potentially very, very harmful.

6241941
The other problem being that, the reason that statement is usually used, is that for every time someone says people 'don't get socialism' they don't explain what they think socialism is. And usually those that do go into detail end up fighting more with other socialists than anyone else because they can't agree to anything.

Believe it or not a lot of people actually do have a fair grasp of what socialism is. We know those things are socialist-esque ideals, along with some other governmental functions like fire departments and social security, hence why I mentioned I controlled form of capitalism. Though as we can obtain these things under capitalism it seems more or less pointless. Now the exact extent of these programs can be debated on another point.

The reference to 'socialism doesn't work' is reference to how virtually every country that dived head-long into it in the past century has turned into a hell hole. Even at best the progress made by the USSR came at a much greater price than worth.

>inb4 'Soviet Union wasn't socialism'
At which point people seem to conveniently forget what the third 'S' stood for and meme out their own version of socialism that hasn't been tried yet.

Mein Führer, was sind meine Befehle?

6242145
The USSR was socialist
until 1928.

"forgot what the third S says"
if you take the name of a country at face value North Korea is democratic

Socialism is a good thing.
Communism is what didn't work.
Democratic Socialism is a GREAT thing.
Communism doesn't work.
They are very often confused.

Something... Something ... God Emperor... Something... TOTALITARIANISM... Something... Fake News.

I don't really know where I'm trying to go with this. :twilightoops:

6241941
Okay, I'm not hating here, but, I myself don't quite understand socialism. I've often confused communism with socialism, though, I have been told they are somewhat different.
That being said, I am curious as to which website in particular is best at explaining it, if you know any.

6243519

Honestly, I've used mostly Wikipedia. For common stuff that's been around quite a while, Wikipedia tends to be credible. I'd compare Socialism side by side with Communism, and for good measure look up how Soviet "Socialism" compares to the given definition. There's actually some debate over whether Soviet Socialism was Socialism. On one hand, it was highly repressive of everyone it supposedly represented (see also, the Ukraine famine of the 1930s), but on the other, it's meant to be a transitional state. And since the transition from a hierarchical state to a "everyone for everyone" kind of state, there's bound to be lots of people who get kicked out (in one way or another) for not being able to function under the new system.

I personally follow the first conclusion, that Soviet Socialism was socialism only in name, because of how permanent the system was. It accomplished a lot, and hurt/killed millions, but seemed to make little headway in reaching the goals it espoused, while steadfastedly propping up those at the top.

6241820
you were never alive in a period of pure capitalism
for that you'll have to study what living in mid 1800's london was like

6246161
Or the Gilded Age in America, which I have. And it was pretty bad on a lot of fronts for workers. Did well in industrializing the country and a few other things but it was abysmal for industrial workers and suffered from extreme issues with monopoly and political corruption by said monopolies. Hence, again, why I said controlled capitalism.

6243566
Therein lies the exact problem that caused so much division through it's history. Large numbers of Socialists/Communists/Marxist or whatever they may be can't actually agree on anything. Not only what is the 'best' ideology but which one is the 'true' one. That's why you had splits between China and The Soviets, between The Soviets and Yugoslavia, between the Soviets and East Germany, and so on. This is generally what happens in terms of it because each time it fails it's called 'false' socialism and attempts are made to tweak the formula that generally also fail. It also doesn't help that it is a sort of group ideology, and those who stand against the group tend to be removed, especially rival groups.

But again this is only trends that come up because tweaks are made to what, at least me and many others, see as an inherently flawed system. The problem is this is all discussing theory and ideology. Communism/Socialism (to use them in broad blanket terms) is another being of the 'good on paper, bad in play' situation, and for all the different groups of them they generally all end up badly in one way or another. It seems like in the search for 'true socialism' the actual results are ignored. Hell, you can say Soviet system might not have been true socialism, and it might not be, but as a nation they got a lot farther than most others and became a superpower. It's really hard to argue with those results.

6243566
Now I know the Soviet union was the best example, however, what of the other communist countries(some of which are still communist today), such as China, or North Korea.(If I'm wrong on North Korea, correct me, please.)
Were they much different, or worse?

6247016

I don't actually know too much about other "communist" states. Most of what I learned about Russia was in some way connected to researching World Wars I and II. China is currently communist, and is famous for cracking down on "dissidents" much like Russia was. Similarly, North Korea is extremely strict on its own people. (Intolerance of alternate ideology, or the perception of alternate ideology, seems to be a hallmark of so-called communism. That it's so often used to promote the state at the populace's expense feels more like a sign of classic totalitarianism than ideal communism.) But that's pretty common knowledge.

An interesting one to look into would be Vietnam, the entirety which as far as I'm aware, has been communist since shortly after the US bailed out. The one thing I do know is that communist Vietnam put a stop to Pol Pot in neighboring Cambodia, a man who was arguably worse than Hitler. (Pol Pot apparently wanted to replace his entire country to excise all corruption from western ideals, which would likely have made for a multi-generational system of genocide against his entire citizenry.) Vietnam has more recently been making fairly friendly overtures to the rest of the world (my dad, who fought there, has been back a couple times in the past decade).

I'd suggest looking into them yourself, because I don't have much more than that.

>  controlled capitalism.
ergo socialism.
its just getting the mixture right that people cant agree on, but anyone who enjoys having public works like sewers can thank socialism for getting the ball rolling on that.
