Music Fly flew down to Ponyville. She worked there as a music teacher. But of course, before going to work she had to eat. She happily went over to Sugarcube Corner and ordered a slice of cake, along with coffee. She then walked to her seat and started eating. When she finished her food, she went to the music school. The school was nearby, just across the street from Sugarcube Corner. Music loved her job, especially since the school was amazingly decorated.
Galaxy sat at Sugarcube Corner, enjoying a blue-raspberry cupcake. She ties a strange key to her mane with her magic, feeling the need to keep it close.
Realizing that she had left something at the sweet shop, Music walked back to Sugarcube Corner. Wait, is that a mare with a key in her mane? she thought as she picked up the item that she had lost - a piece of folded paper. Out of curiosity, Music went to the blue mare and asked, "You realize there's something stuck in your mane, right?" She knew it would be weird for somepony to have something in their mane without noticing, but why would anypony put something in there?
"Oh. May I ask why you put it there?" Music said, still curious. Why didn't this mare bring a saddlebag instead of tying a key to her mane? "Oh, and my name is Music Fly."
"Nice to meet you, I'm Galaxy." Galaxy claps her hooves round the key and tugs on it. It slides out of her mane easily, and chain attached to it falling limply against her hooves. "This is just...really important to me. So, I like to keep it close."
"That's... interesting, I guess." She wanted to know what was so important about it, but she decided not to be a busybody. "I have to go now. Would you like to be a student of my music class? Always glad to introduce somepony to music. We have easy instruments too, so you can still join if you don't know how to play."
Winterwind was sitting in sugar cube corner, quickly reading a book while enjoying a lemonade, He heard two fillies talking and peeked over his story to see a strange mare with a key in her hair talking to a Pegasus. Realizing that it was no one he knew, he sighed and went back to reading.
"Great! Let's go!" In Music's head, she was thinking, INVITE ALL THE PONIES TO MUSIC! And she did. Well, she invited one pony who was reading a book while drinking lemonade.
Well that was new, Winterwind thought, First time I've been invited to a music class, Might as well go I haven't played with others for a while. So he went home grabbed a pair of drumsticks and ran out. Wait when was this music class, she didn't say. That could be problematic.
Music smiled and led the way. The music class was just about to start. That meant she didn't have much time to introduce her two new friends to their classmates, but at least they weren't late.
Winterwind was very nearly late. He had gone to the music building to check the time but was distracted by some herbs that he wanted to harvest. Thankfully though he arrived just in time, or at least according to the according to the music pony he did.
"Welcome to my class," said Music. Looking around, she realized that there were a few new students. "My name is Music Fly. And for the new students, why don't you come up and introduce yourselves?"
Galaxy walks to the front of the class. "Hi! I'm Galaxy. I play the violin, and my occupation is...I don't really have one, since I tend to travel a lot."
Music nodded. Her new students seemed to already play an instrument. She unfolded her paper she had picked up earlier. It said, Remember to decide what instrument to teach the class before ending up trying to teach the class 3 instruments at the same time again. She sighed. She was supposed to do that yesterday. Pointing to the instruments in a corner, Music said to the class, "The instruments are over there. Pick one."
(Sorry for the delay) After the song finished, Music Fly looked up at the clock. There was still time for one more song, if she wrote it down fast enough. But, of course, she couldn't think of any song. She could replay the same song all over again, but where was the fun in that?
"Anypony here can think of a nice song that they can play?" she asked.
Music Fly nodded. She picked up her chalk and wrote the notes down. It was a popular song, and most ponies, in her opinion, should know how to play it, but, hey, she liked cakes but didn't know how to bake them.
Music looked at the board again. Wait a minute, she thought, I don't know how to play that on the guitar! Yes, she was a strange music teacher - anypony who couldn't decide what to teach their class would definitely be considered unusual - but for her, not knowing how to play a song was like... forgetting how to eat - music was her special talent, and she'd gotten it when she was 8. She had to find out how to play the song. She excused herself to go to the toilet, then ran to the library. She'd find a book on music...
(I realized that it would be boring to keep playing songs, so I made it different a bit, and that was all I could think of.)
Music Fly flew to the section on music, picked a book, and quickly flipped through it. This sure is a really long toilet break, she thought to herself as she read. Soon she found the right page in Chapter 5: Actually play the Instrument. She memorized the song before closing the book and flying back.
Winterwind was finishing chapter 6 in his book: Actually play the instrument well. when he saw the music teacher come back in. He carefully placed a bookmark in the pages and got his sticks out.
"You can start playing now," said Music Fly, wiping sweat off her forehead. She was still tired from running that much, but that was what happened when she couldn't stand not knowing a song. She picked up her guitar.
Music Fly kept playing nicely, and soon the song was over. She, once again, looked at the clock. Class was over. More than over, actually, because of the running to the library and back. She dismissed the class.
"You're welcome," said Music Fly. Still curious, she asked, "So, why is that key around your neck?" She knew it was a sensitive topic, but she couldn't help it.

Galaxy points to the key with her hoof. "You mean this? It's not stuck there, I put it in myself."
"Oh. May I ask why you put it there?" Music said, still curious. Why didn't this mare bring a saddlebag instead of tying a key to her mane? "Oh, and my name is Music Fly."

"Oh. Sure!" She places the chain around her neck, letting act like a necklace.

Galaxy gets up and follows Music. This should be fun!
Galaxy walked into the building, settling herself down beside some of the other ponies and waited for the class to begin.
"Welcome to my class," said Music. Looking around, she realized that there were a few new students. "My name is Music Fly. And for the new students, why don't you come up and introduce yourselves?"
Winterwind walked up in front of the class to introduce himself. "Hello, my name is Winterwind. I'm a chemist and I play drums."

Galaxy goes over and picks out a violin for herself.
Winterwind Goes over too and after trying most of the percussion section, settles down with a wide variety of things to hit.
Music wrote the notes on her blackboard. She did have to squeeze it in a little, but that was what she got for forgetting to organize her lessons.
Galaxy looks at the blackboard for about a second and sets her violin into position, ready to play on command.
Winterwind grins and gets himself into position behind a snare drum.
Music gestured for the class to start playing and tapped her hoof to keep the rhythm.
Winterwind easily kept up playing a steady rhythm on the snare.
Galaxy keeps a steady rhythm, easily hitting every note.
Music couldn't resist getting her own guitar and playing too. The melody was beautiful. They were soon nearing the end of the song.
Winterwind felt the ending coming as well and started building up to it, playing faster on the snare.
Galaxy noted the ending of the song, playing her best to make it count.
(Sorry for the delay)

"Can you play "Bittersweet symphony"?" Winterwind asked, "I think it works with this instrumentation."
Music Fly nodded. She picked up her chalk and wrote the notes down. It was a popular song, and most ponies, in her opinion, should know how to play it, but, hey, she liked cakes but didn't know how to bake them.
Galaxy positions herself, ready to play.

Winterwind sighed and pulled out his ever present book, deciding to wait until the teacher got back.
A soft smile appears on Galaxy's face and she readjusts the chain around her neck.
(no worries!)

Galaxy positions herself when she sees Music enter the room.
"You can start playing now," said Music Fly, wiping sweat off her forehead. She was still tired from running that much, but that was what happened when she couldn't stand not knowing a song. She picked up her guitar.
Galaxy nods a begins to play the notes written on the board.
WInterwind played the beat and did his best to keep everyone's tempo even.
Music Fly played expertly, considering she had just learnt it from a book.
Galaxy keeps a steady tepmo. Though the song is unfamiliar to her, she plays it surprisingly well.
(sorry for not posting anything, been busy)
Winterwind was having a blast, He loved it when a piece came together perfectly. He made a note to complement the violinist later.
Music Fly kept playing nicely, and soon the song was over. She, once again, looked at the clock. Class was over. More than over, actually, because of the running to the library and back. She dismissed the class.
Galaxy puts the violin back neatly where she got it from and walks up to Music. "Thank you, that was quite fun!"
"You're welcome," said Music Fly. Still curious, she asked, "So, why is that key around your neck?" She knew it was a sensitive topic, but she couldn't help it.
Galaxy smiles softly. "Like I said, it's important to me. I like to keep it close."
