Name: Pumpernickel and Laminia
Gender: Male and Female
Appearance: Pumpernickel is large and bulky with a lot of raw power and a rather blocky profile, while Laminia is slim and quite a bit smaller, with large wings for her size and a little thread of blue that shows up in her mane in just the right light.

Personality: Pumpernickel is taciturn, gloomy, reserved, and very quiet, who believes in his job as a Night Guard with an intensity that is a little unnerving at times. He’s passive, extremely so to the point that he has a perfect sparring record in the Royal Guard: No wins, just ties or losses. (See Diplomacy by Other Means for the exception)
Laminia is a cast-iron bitch. She is a bitterly honest, snarky, spiteful ball of self-pitying angst that she takes out on everypony within reach, but is fanatically loyal to Luna, perhaps a bit too much for her own good.

Cutie Mark: Pumpernickel’s cutie mark is a silvery moonsteel heart, symbolizing that he is willing to soak up the damage from whatever danger threatens the ones he loves. Laminia’s cutie mark is a red hearts-and-hooves heart, torn in half that she first claims is from her special talent of causing pain to the ponies she loves, then later realizes it is for healing hearts torn apart by pain.

Name: Nox Fadesun

Gender: Male

Appearance: Medium build, with darker than normal grey fur, with indigo on the mane, tail, and wings, with bright green eyes. Usually seen with a saddlebag full of potions on his person.

Personality: Friendly, but shy, lives by himself for the most part. Loves to brew potions, and is sometimes seen as a bit of a mad alchemist, coming up with ideas spur of the moment, getting distracted easily unless something completely takes over his focus. usually has some potion or other on his person at all times. Cautious around new ponies but tends to warm up to them pretty fast, can blend in with a crowd though. He hates being the center of attention and lives in the solitude of the Hayseed swamps.

Cutie Mark: A clear flask with a crescent moon inside it, with wisps of dark blue smoke coming out of the open top of the flask. (I'm not good at describing things sorry)

Is she/he used in a story?: No. but I'm thinking on writing one about him.

Name: Night Streak

Appearance: slim, almost female (less drag), primary color is black, while second is red, blue, or green depending on mood. same with eyes, which are dragon/cat-like

Personality: mischievous, prefers to be alone sometimes, usually quiet. Doesn't usually make friends, but if he does, he's protective and loyal, unless given a reason. not very right in the head either...

Cutie Mark: shield with a heart in it, crossed with two scythes

Name: Compass Rose

Gender: Male

Appearance: half bat pony, half earth pony. Imagine male Pinkie Pie with big bat wings, a goatee, and zebra stripes tattooed on his front legs. He has a lot of earrings. Get the bad OC vibe already? good. He wears a gauntlet with hooks and a folding knife to help with ropes.

Personality: not strongly opinionated and generally casual. He takes a few jabs at his captain from time to time, but he gets his work done just fine. He takes pride in his work, and he won't turn down a chance to show off.

Cutie Mark: a compass needle.

Is he used in a story: yes. He is one of the sailors on the Swift in Of The Last Millennium

Not a major character. With Compass Rose and his twin brother Fog Pilot, I wanted two bizarre-looking ponies. In my story plan I had a good reason for why Compass Rose looks the way he does, but the story is plenty long enough without another detour.

Race: Dust Pony (Night Earth Pony)

Appearance: Dark blue coat, tri-colored mane. (gray, slate, and black).

Personality: Knight Breeze is an enigma. He constantly wears a mask, hiding his true self behind a wall of lies. This is necessary in his line of work, as he has been personally commissioned by Princess Luna to expose an underground sapient slavery ring and its benefactors, many of which are prominent members of the Equestrian nobility. As an airship captain and a count, his favorite mask is that of an arrogant fool, who's purpose is to make his enemies misjudge his true intelligence and guile.
Knight Breeze's true self is that of a soft-spoken, yet friendly pony, who's convictions come before anything else. Despite his guileful exterior, he is probably one of the most loyal ponies you will ever meet

Cutie Mark: A blue, winged kite shield with a crescent moon superimposed on its surface.

Is she/he used in a story?: He appears in Fool's Gambit and will also have a cameo in The Nautilus Protocol.

Appearance: lanky, black coat, dark blue mane (style described as similar to Zecora's). Wears a necklace made of changelings' fangs. Yellow eyes. Speaks German, though she understands English.

Personality: Definitely not sane (she used to fight changelings by infiltrating the nests). Rather silent type, can be violent, but relies mostly on intimidation. Likes black humour and the Wonderbolts – in fact the only moment in the story when she doesn't grumble/swear/threaten someone is when she sees RD and starts to fangirl:

“F-fan?” Dash’s jaw dropped. When she had become a Wonderbolt, she had gained many fans. Some were normal, some, like the guy who proposed to her in a letter written in his own blood, were creepy, but probably nopony of them was stranger than a black mare with bat wings and a necklace made of changelings’ fangs.

Name: Wild Hunt

Gender: female

Appearance: Grey coat, cherry-coloured mane. Speaks with Scouse accent. After meeting Minuette lacks a tip of one of her ears. Strong enough to take off with a pony on her back.

Personality: A rather smart brute, the leader of a group of Nosferatu des Grauen's henchmen (she's surrounded by idiots). Combat pragmatist. Vengeful and creative in her cruelty:

“And what if I don’t?” I ask. Not that I don’t want to do that, I’m just wondering what are the limits of their creativity.

“Do you know Wild Hunt?” the stallion asks, glaring daggers at me.

“Why wouldn’t I? I bit her ear off...”

“She proposed an enema made of battery acid. How do you like that option?”

personality: seeming to be cold (She is) she is actually caring to those who are able to understand her quiet nature or best her in anything requiring spirit or skill. not easily angered, she will take the position of an observer and enjoys testing the resolves of others. unlike most of her family, she is diurnal and if you never saw her wings, you would think she was an earth pony. another thing uncommon about her is that she is an omnivore, and feels that pony pallets need to be expanded to include different food.
favorite foods: ham, turkey, bacon, and occasionally, manticore (If she can find it)
cutie mark: strangely enough, 5 butterflies of vibrant colors in a star formation. reflects her nature to a T in that she is likely to be indifferent and beautiful in an "You can look but i warn you, do not touch) kind of way
in a story: soon, as a represntitive of the exiled bat-pony race. exiled afte several vengeful revolts against Celestia for banishing their leader (or as they put it, Lord of the night)

Appearance: Purple mane, red coat (Faded colours). Very marelike. He is from an original land of my own creation, Silverfield. Ponies in Silverfield hold no masculine qualities and are generally on the smaller side of Equestrians.

Personality: Idealistic, Aloof, Knowledgable, Paranoid, Determined, Knaving.

Cutie Mark: The pagan "Moon Blessing" symbol. I don't want to go into details here. His cutie mark as an earth pony is a pen/quill crossed over a knife, showing that words are always stronger than weapons.

Gender: Male
Appearence: Torchlight is a rather usual bat pony stallion in appearence (well, as usual as you can get for being a bat pony). His coat is dark grey, while his leathery wings have a dark purple shade. His mane is black in color and seems to get its shape done by the airstream of flight. His eyes are a bright yellow with slitted pupils and he has a bit of longer fur below the end of his muzzle akin to a small beard.
Personality: He tends to be reserved when it comes to strangers, while he can be rather outgoing with his friends or other people he knows.
Never the less he won't abandon anypony who needs help and has a rather strong sence of right and wrong.
During his time in the guard however he learned that being obedient and just follow orders was not his way of living.
Cutie mark: A candle in a candle holder

He tried out for the Wonderbolts, but was rejected on the fact that he's a Thestral, not a Pegasus, since then, he has always resented the team. He has a short temper that is only triggered by those who dislike him for simply being born a Bat Pony or those who idolize the Wonderbolts (despite this, he still has a crush on Rainbow Dash)
Cutie Mark: the silhouette of a bat on a silver shield, representing his need to protect those weaker than him and pride for his heritage.

Name:Night Sky (I know it kind of lack originality)

Gender:Stallion

Appearance: Dark Blue coat, cyan mane and purple eyes, like any bat-pony he has slitted eyes,fluffy ears and small fangs, he is rather tall and athletic

personality:kind and caring he is also calm and always act with caution, he is a bit shy but will protect those he care for to the bitter-end. his shyness is a result of a lot of bullying when he tried to fit in when he was younger because he was adopted by a family of pegasi and as such had to live with them and their way which make him not accepted either by bat-ponies since he is also too different for them. the lack of acceptance from other ponies be they bat-ponies or otherwise left Night Sky with a great emptiness in his heart making him rather fragile.

cutie mark: this is his real cutie mark, as a guard of luna (at least in most of my rp) there is a moon on the shield to represent his oath to the princess while the shield represent his will to protect those he care for and the star his hope to one day find acceptance.

Name: Alucard Night

Gender: Male

Appearance: Standard dark grey coat and royal blue mane. Has the build of a royal guard. Often wears his armor. Also has a necklace with a diamond charm; the diamond is magically charged with the ability to disguise himself as a normal Pegasus (named Storm Cloud). in this form, his fur takes on a lighter shade, though still fairly dark.

Personality: In a world where Celestia and Luna rule two opposing countries (yes, this will be a Solar Empire/Lunar Republic story), Alucard is fiercely loyal to the Republic. He's willing to jump headfirst into battle at any chance. But he's not a blind soldier; he does not harm the innocent, and he will not stand for something that appears morally suspect. He's also sociable enough that he can get along with just about anypony. Though, like many bat-winged pegasi, he holds a slight distrust for "Solar ponies."

Cutie Mark: Shield with two stars. As Storm Cloud, a dark cloud with rain.

Shy and withdrawn (but not as bad as Fluttershy, Dreams simply tends to go with the flow of the conversations instead of voicing her own opinion and her overall attitude becomes serventile) . But thats mainly due her past and raising as a 'comfort mare' for some noble snob.
When comfortable amongst another she is rather sarcastic, quite intelligent and gifted with an healthy but odd sense of humor. Yet she is unsure of her new life is actually true and can be a tad paranoïd.

Okay, since my last post here is for a story I haven't even written yet, here's a character that does exist.

Name: Dracul Nebula (between this post and my last one, can you guess the conventions by which I name these characters?)

Appearance: Dark gray coat with blue mane. An elderly stallion, he stands slightly weaker than most, though not to the levels of somepony like, say, Granny Smith

Personality: Calm and wise. Even when upset, will not show anger.

Cutie Mark: Actually, when I wrote this, I never gave him, nor any bat-winged pegasus, a cutie mark (slipped my mind ). So, umm... A balance scale, denoting his wisdom and ability to weigh all factors in any one issue.

Is she/he used in a story?: Rise of the Moon

Appearance: Fairly standard, as far as bat ponies go. Dark grey coat, black mane and tail, amber-yellow eyes. Rarely seen without his uniform, a dark purple jacket with a white waistcoat. The jacket sports golden epaulettes and black trim. Always wears a dark purple bicorne, also with black trim.

Personality: Calm and collected to the point of unnatural. Even when in the middle of the fiercest boarding action, Clockwork remains calm and never raises his voice. A very by the book pony, however, depending on the situation, is known to bend the rules in order to do what is right. His habit of always following the rules and regulations is closely tied with this special talent. Clockwork is an excellent organizer. Even when given the most disorganized group of troublesome misfits, he will soon have them working together like a well oiled machine.

Cutie Mark: A brass colored clockwork mechanism, consisting of four gears.

Personality: Loves to joke around and is a big tease. She is usually seen sporting a playful smirk. She is very serious when she works, but likes to have fun as well. She can be romantic at times as well.

Cutie Mark: Three black paw prints. Her special talent is tracking.

Is she used in a story?: She will be introduced later in the story, becoming a personal bodyguard appointed by Princess Luna to my Pegasus OC, Dusty Roads.

Backstory: was originally born in hollow shades to but moved around a lot after his parents got divorced and due to his mother's service as a night guard until at the age of 10 he moved to canterlot where his mother retired and they settled there. He attended the school for gifted unicorns for his high mana pool (he can teleport and mult task with his telekinesis but not much) and his military family but he had no interest or the physical capabilities (he's out of shape but keeps fit) he got bullied a little due to his vesper appearance and blank flank but he had few close friends like iron smith. He grew a love of comic books and anime with the help of his friends and gained many hobbies building gunpla, and other models and eventually he wrote a fan fiction which earned him his cutie mark after which inspired by his parents words and the heros of his comics he took mostly writing classes and took an apprenticeship under gale simmane who with her training and recommendation from her at the age of 14 became an assistant writer for Moon Knight and created the second new moon crescent after a year because of fan demand became the sole writer of the series for two years until the series was canceled due too editorial mandate turning moon knight into a super villain for a few months he worked at marvel most notably for his work on the star-venom series until he returned to EC to write an editorial mandate of turning crescent into the anti-hero mercenary Red Horn but unlike in on moon knight he was given free control of his creation and he won an eisner award for the story and he helped with the origin of iron mane in the process during his work on "NEW MOON NO MORE RISE RED HORN!" he met his friend lime hearts who did the art for it they became close friends with her. He now at the age of 17 he is now the writer of the best selling series Vengeful Guardians staring his creation Red Horn

When he's not burning the midnight oil in the library, Silver likes to sword train out in the practice fields; hoping to develop his own style and techniques. However, when it comes to social engagements, Silver can be pretty dense, usually over thinking on the most basic of conversations, or giving long winded explanations to simple questions. Because his position can be very stressful at times, Silver loves to relax by munching on strawberries and reading a good book in the moonlight.

Appearance: Pale grey coat, minty green messy shoulder length mane, red eyes. She's anthro, so she usually wears cargo pants, tank top & barrett during non-combat duty, and her red/grey renaissance-esq armor while on patrol.
Personality: A high ranking soldier of the Equestrian armed legion, the only official military for the Equestrian empire until the Alicorn sisters dethroned their empress and stormed Everfree City with the three pony tribes. Chaly is the latest generation of major at arms, hoping to lead the charge and take back her homeland. The consummate soldier. Stoic, reserved, composed, disciplined, only speaking when spoken to, always following orders to the letter, always on time, never taking a vacation, personal or sick day. She has very few peers on the battlefield, covering the skies with grace and agility, commanding her forces with a deadly calm.
However, manners outside of an official or military capacity, she is less experienced. She stays later than needed, turns down invites to formal gatherings, avoids small talk with her subordinates or even superiors, doesn't join her fellow soldiers on group outings. She doesn't attend city events like concerts, hoofball (soccer) games, or cage fights, join in holiday festivities or even ask somepony out on a date. She just goes to work, stays her shift and more, then goes to her sparse apartment and sleeps. She's easy to embarrass though, and will get flustered when put into an informal, light hearted situations, such as being joked with by her superiors or being asked about romance by her empress.

Appearance: Black coat, with short dark blue mane and tail, slitted green eyes (my headcanon is all Thestrals have slitted eyes naturally) a scar slashed across his face, and a small chunk taken out of his left wing and ear.

Personality: Cold and efficient, he was the deadly right-hoof of Nightmare Moon, and commander of the Nightmare Legion in the Hundred-Year War. (Headcanon: It was a hundred years between the "awakening" of Nightmare Moon and her banishment, which was spent in a constant state of war between her and Celestia.)

Cutie Mark: A dagger with a droplet of venom on the tip

Personality: Kind of skittish, but very loyal to her friends. Prefers to run rather than fight if at all possible, unless one of her friends is in danger, in which case she may be pretty vicious toward the attacker.

Is she/he used in a story?: Yes. She cameos in Kingdom of Avia, is one of the main characters in The Eighth Sea, appears in a chapter of Dr. Bobtail, and Survive the Everfree completely centers around her.

Name: Wicked Strike
Gender: Male
Appearance: Black body with gray and silver fading and highlights. Black mane and tail with red highlights. Muscular, but more toned than bulky. Wings suffer from some damage due to constant fights and training. Scars evident.

(This is a quick layout for me to base my revisions and final product on. It took me about an hour, so some details are omitted and the colors are not quite what I want. I will change a lot in the final pic.)

Personality: Eccentric, extroverted, competitive, friendly, combative, immature, carefree. These are the first traits that one would notice upon meeting and hanging out with Wicked, at first. But after a while, when someone becomes close friends with him, they discover that he has severe depression, shyness, and self doubt. Wicked just acts as he normally does to break out of his shell and change. It has worked partly, his shyness is almost nonexistent, but he secretly holds disappointment in who he is and wants to better himself. He has had his depression for most of his life, partly because of his upbringing, and partly because of another reason. He is obsessed with martial arts and fighting. Unarmed combat is actually his talent. But he also enjoys science and understanding things. He wants to know how and why things are. He detests most authority and especially when ponies in higher positions attempt to unjustly exercise their powers. He is constantly skeptical and analyzing things, ponies, and situations. But many times he foregoes analysis and the smart choice in favor of having fun and enjoying his life. The most important things to him are his friends. He has never had a strong connection with his family, and even rejoiced when his mother died. So he adopts his various friends as those who truly care for him, and him for them. He was suicidal when he still lived with his mother, and even attempted to take his life. But the attempt failed and he realized that his life affected more than just himself. He had to consider everypony he knew, and their pain they might feel if he did die. So he continued to live for them. He is very hard pressed to actually fight ponies, he is okay with competitions and sparring. But he only goes full out when his life, or the lives of others are in danger. He has only had to do this once, and he broke the offending pony's front leg with a hoof bar (armbar in case it wasn't obvious). He has always fantasized about casting off his moral restraints and chains, and causing some pain and destruction, but his empathy and conscience tend to get in the way. He wants to punish those who he deems need punishing, but he knows from experience that leads to a short and horrible life. So he continues on with learning, and befriending around Equestria.

Cutie Mark: A tribal boxing glove.

He hasn't been in anything yet. But I do plan on writing a fic that focuses on him. Since he is pretty much myself in pony form, his life will be composed of experiences similar to mine, but with some added twists and ponyfied of course. It will be slice of life, but the action mostly comes from his martial arts training and the stupid stuff he does with his friends.

Gender: Male

Appearance: Dark Blue Thestral with green wings. An unkempt green mane that he never bothered to brush, unless forced to. Possesses Pitch Black eyes and longer canines than usual.

Personality: An idiot, an oblivious one at that. Often found day/nightdreaming or just lazing about. Also the least likely to hold grudges, due to his forgetfulness. However, he could extremely manipulative and intelligent if he tried. Extremely distrusting of all other ponies except those close to him and holds fast to a code of morals he devised for himself. He often called himself heartless for being unable to feel empathy, having driven all his thoughts on logic and hopes to one day be able to find 'true' friends. Dislikes the Princesses of Equestria, hates Celestia for banishing the Bat Ponies, and His liege Luna for having agreed on the 'Thestral dieting programme' Celestia had thought up, which consists of zero to no meat or blood at all, essentials of a Thestral's diet. Angered at what was most obviously a suicide statement passed from the princesses, he was among the half of the exiled Thestrals who forsworn their allegiance from Luna the moment that she agreed to the dieting programme.

Name: Gloamwing
Gender: Female
Appearance: Your standard-looking female bat pegasus, with gray fur, a purple mane, fur-tufted ears, and piercing, golden eyes.
Personality: Stern and strict toward the soldiers under her command, but very caring of them as well. Was once a carefree troublemaker as a foal, and still shows sings of this when around her friend from her childhood, Zephyr.
Cutie Mark: Still in development, possible portrayal of a sunset.
Is she/he used in a story?: One of the two main protagonists. Zephyr, a normal, male pegaus, the other protagonist, and main love interest, is part of another squad from Canterlot. Both teams are sent to accompany a pair of archaeologists up north, encountering many creatures, both terrible, and unnatural in the process. While on the journey, the two attempt to reconnect, and while doing so, Zephyr tries to bring out the fun-loving, mischievous spirit she once was, while she in return tries to show him how to be a good leader.

Name: Earshot

Gender: Male

Appearance: A Ten-year old colt (subjective age on par with human development) with the standard Gray body and purple mane/wings of most Night Ponies. He almost always wears a pair of brass goggles around his neck with dark green glass lenses so that when things get too bright he can protect his yellow cat-like eyes.

Personality: Earshot is a surprisingly well adjusted Night Pony (the name given to bat-winged ponies in our setting). Mostly upbeat and likable Earshot has been sent forth by the Night Ponies of the secret location known as Stygian Cove to be their Olive branch to see if it's time for them to come back into the sun so-to-speak. Earshot takes this duty fairly seriously, always trying to be on his best behavior.
While only his hearing and his will are considered extraordinary he comes across as exceptionally bright, learning rather quickly on a broad variety of subjects, this isn't because he is anything like a genius but rather that the outside world fascinates him and fills him with an insatiable curiosity to everything under the sun and how it works. This sometimes gets him into trouble as his curiosity can get the better of him, most often when it comes to seeing if something is edible or not.
Many ponies find his personality surprising, where one minute he is as playful and innocent as any other foal his age, and then capable of handling concepts like death or self-sacrifice with great maturity. While he works on a Vineyard as pest-control (his omnivorous diet scaring away most pests) he is also employed by the Royal Equestrian Rogue Weather rapid response unit known as the Storm-Riders as a Low-visibility specialist and his teammates never doubt for a moment the courage of this little Pegasus-variant.

Cutie Mark: A Bat Ear receiving three sound waves symbolising that his special talent is 'Listening'. His sense of hearing is considered astounding even by Night Pony standards allowing him to hear things like the Stars 'Singing', strange under-noises in the voices of truly 'supernormal' creatures and the sounds of Ponyville all the way from Sweet Apple Acres.

Is he used in a story?: Yes. Earshot appears as a secondary character in "The Sour Grapes Chronicles" http://www.fimfiction.net/story/7109/the-sour-grapes-chronicles In this setting the Night Pony breed have been in hiding for the past one thousand years following the Nightmare Moon incident. When Nightmare Moon was defeated by Celestia the Night Ponies realised that there was going to be a lot of angry daylighters who felt utterly powerless during the period the sun was blocked from the sky and so before the angry mob was at the door to their great city they had already abandoned it. The Night Pony city of Nocturnia was razed to rubble by the three tribes who then in an act of shame for 'killing' the Night Ponies proceeded to erase all physical evidence they ever existed. For a thousand years the Night Ponies laid low and faded from memory until they became no more than myths and legends on par with Vampires.

Name: Stella, of the House Malpertuus.
Gender: female.
Appearance: she has the slender build of a noble, and her hair is brushed flat and into a peak, but cut short enough not to fall in front of her hair. Her kind never hides their faces. She has a night blue coat, and all in all she looks like what a lot of rousettes speculate is what Princess Luna looked like when she was young, which may be where the girl got her name.

Personality: despite being of nobility through adoption (her parents died of the plague, and a Lord adopted her), she is a bit of a jock. She's as well-mannered as any noble filly can be, soft-spoken, well-cultured, but in terms of physical exploits she is very much a jock. She loves measuring her skills against others, but due to her family background gets little chance to do so. She also prefers not to let grudges become feuds, seeing as she is meant to be an ambassador someday. She's already showing signs of her grooming, being unabashed about interacting with ponies and explaining some of the more obscure rituals when even rousettes themselves don't know the roots.

She's also very fond of Rumble, and will express great interest and respect towards Scootaloo. But for some strange reason, the two girls aren't in the same room very often...

Cutie mark: none at the moment. It's suspected it will look much like that of her legal guardian, who has a five-petaled flower for a cutie mark, a flower with a purple center and orange-ish edges. Nopony's really sure what that flower is called, though, probably something foreign and symbolic.

Is she used in a story? She will be one of the new characters in the third part of the Quorum Sensing stories, the branch that started with Blue Moon Bloom. So she's part of a world where bat ponies hate being associated with ponies, and they have rituals of wedlock as a rite of passage. It also means that any ponies she likes, if she wants to be close to them, she has to get a lifemate first. And oh yeah, in the first story of that series, Scootaloo kind of, sort of turned into a changeling, but that's just a minor detail.
