Good News: The Serbian is alive.

Bad News: ...He probably wishes he wasn't. That is because I have had a lot of time, and a lot of chemicals to make.:pinkiecrazy:

You see, this collab takes place in the future, but what it really needs is some stuff that makes it feel from the future. That's partially where I come into play. I have been developing chemicals, procedures, cyberware, and all sorts of fun you may have seen in the Think Tank. I still have a lot of work to do, but i figured I'd show you all what I have for now. Although I'm introducing most of this, you are all free to use what I have for whatever you wish.

Shiro will, however, have the final say on what does and doesn't go on. My list of chemical is mostly done; I have a little over a half down on paper. After chemicals, I still have cyberware, bioware, and the corporations to deal with.

I remind you, this list is incomplete. i still have a lot more to add, but you are more than free to recommend any new chemicals to add to the master list. Below is a portion of the document I am creating and the guidelines by which I am making chemicals. Feel free to add. Feel free to correct.

Chemicals are going to be valuable in the future, but we would need some pretty advanced stuff. Right here is my list of chemicals, stuff people of the future could be capable of obtaining and using for either just or maligned purposes.

This list is still incomplete

Entries for chemicals use the following formula:

Name:
Faction:
Status:
Description:

Each means the following:

Name - Of course, the name or type of the chemical for that particular entry.

Faction - Each chemical may only be available to certain individuals or species. For instance:

Name:
        Carcerand
Faction: Alliance, Dratali, Civilian

Carcerands are available to all Dratali, all Alliance military, and all civilians. This does not take into the account the difficulty to obtain the chemical (Status) , only that it can be.

Status - This is the difficulty to obtain the chemical for each faction.

Level 1 is commercially available to all who are willing to seek it out, ot the chemical is plentiful providing one has the proper work credentials.
Level 2 is restricted to special prescriptions and industrial and corporate workplaces, along with military, hospital, and warehouse installations. It is still relatively easy to gain such chemicals with Level 2 access, but procuring them may be illegal in certain circumstances.
Level 3 is unavailable to all civilians. Chemicals of the rank are difficult to obtain and require contacts in the required field.

Name:
        “Odysseus”
Faction: Alliance
Status: 3

Odysseus is a chemical illegal for civilians to obtain, as it has a rank of Level 3.
Level 4 is restricted to government use only and government contractors. No corporation of any kind is legally permitted to obtain chemicals with a level 4 rank, unless under such a contract.
Level 5 chemicals are government use only. Regulation of such chemicals is highly regulated and illegal to use or obtain under any circumstance.

Description - Description describes how the chemical is used, enters the body if applicable, and what functions it has

Name: Acid
Faction: Alliance, Dratali, Civilian
Status: 1
Description: Most acids are relatively mild; they are used as solvents and generate heat when mixed with water. Typically, it is dangerous to add water to acids, as it causes a reaction in which the acid might froth and splash the area. Mild acids may have some caustic effects on skin; they are particularly dangerous to eyes, and poisonous if taken internally. Stronger concentrated acids are more dangerous and can cause severe burns. They are highly corrosive, capable of dissolving metals and alloys. Acids must be kept in containers that will not corrode.

If handled properly, acids can be used for creative endeavors such as melting through locks and doors, etching walls or windows, and even as a weapon. Acid burns generate nasty scars and can be used to blind individuals.

Each acid has its own acidity that indicates its strength and corrosive power. Stonger acids eat through barriers faster, but may leave far more damage other than a destroyed barrier. One must always be careful to not destroy structural supports or accidentally touch the corrosive. Acid can be rendered inert if it is properly diluted or the correct base is added. Certain acids generate smoke and noxious fumes that may be extremely hazardous to health.

If used as a weapon, a dose of acid can severely damage worn armor. Prices for for acids vary based on the strength, corrosive power, and rarity of the acid.

Name: Carcerand
Faction: Alliance, Dratali, Civilian
Status: 2
Description: Carcerands are molecular bodies whose structures resemble empty spheres. When created, small amounts of a compound may be trapped within them. The carcerand can then be injected, where it circulates through the organism's system, carrying the chemical. Carcerands are degraded by acids and enzymes within the target organism, and the trapped compound is slowly released into the organism's body. Depending on its composition, a carcerand can degrade as quickly as one hour or as slowly as one year after introduction.

Carcerands are used by those who need regular medication. Rather than taking a periodic shot or pill, they have carcerands injected every few months. Carcerands are also useful as persuasion devices-the target is injected with a toxin-carrying carcerand and forced to do something to receive the antidote in time.

Each carcerand has a delay period. This is the amount of time between when the carcerand is injected and when the compound it contains is released. Carcerands are not affected by blood filters. Prices for carcerands are based on their delay periods. They do not include the cost for the compounds the carcerands contain.

Carcerands are expensive to produce, but easy to administer. A certified medic is required to properly create them, especially on short notice. Prices for medics with knowledge in creating carcerands are significant, especially in the criminal underground.

Name: Dikote
Faction: Alliance, Dratali, Civilian
Status: 2
Description: Dikote is a process that deposits a thin diamond film on any solid surface. The diamond film imparts more structural strength and resilience. Dikoted surfaces are smooth and relatively frictionless, conduct heat well and can be modified to conduct electricity.

Not everything can be glazed with Dikote. The item treated must be able to withstand the heat generated by the plasma used in the glazing process. Cloth and plastic cannot be coated, though ceramics and most metals can.

When Dikote is used to coat a melee, throwing or projectile weapon, they become more resistant to bending. This makes flexibility an issue when such a factor is required.

Name: “Odysseus”
Faction: Alliance
Status: 3
Description: Odysseus is a utility chemical with a number of applications, though its most common use is as a carrier that forces the skin to absorb delivered chemicals. Odysseus is soluble in acetone, alcohol, ether and water; it is liquid at room temperature and is nonreactive with most other compounds. Upon contact with skin, Odysseus, and whatever other compound is dissolved in solution with it, is instantly absorbed into the body.

Any chemical mixed with Odysseus is deployable via the contact vector. Porous armor (such as armor clothing and Kevlar weaves) offers little protection against Odysseus, as it soaks right through. Only individuals in fully sealed rigid armor or in protective suits specifically designed to protect against chemical/biological agents are immune to the penetrating effect of Odysseus.

Do to severe abuse by criminal gangs and raids, Odysseus has been restricted to governmental, hospital, and military use only. It is extremely difficult to obtain the chemical, but there are black market sales at an extreme markup. Only individuals, groups, or parties with a high clearance by Alliance command or a career where working with the chemical is required can have legal access to Odysseus.

Odysseus is highly prized, especially in the criminal underworld. Prices for even legitimate are considerable, but the price may be very much worth the cost. Odysseus can go for obscene prices on the black market, as it provides an easy means for delivering poisons and toxins.

Name: Freeze Foam
Faction: Alliance, Dratali, Civilian
Status: 1
Description: This coats the target area with a sticky, thick, white foam that begins to harden almost immediately to a solid, dense consistency. Once hardened, the concretized foam restricts movement, though it does remain porous to reduce the risk of suffocation. The solid foam quickly breaks down over a period of hours and can be easily dissolved with a simple solvent. Freeze foam is used in trauma situations to immobilize broken limbs in protective casts. Riot police use it to incapacitate rioters and to construct foam barricades. Police versions of the foam typically include chemical stain markers that show up under ultraviolet light, so rioters can be identified later.

Medical-purpose freeze foam is dispensed through a handheld spray tank. Improvising characters can use the foam to create temporary restraining devices. Riot freeze foam is dispensed through a high-pressure water cannon. The substance is relatively easy to obtain from most major warehouses.

Name: Fuel-Air Explosive (FAE) Bomb
Faction: Alliance, Dratali, Civilian
Status: 3
Description: A fuel-air explosive (FAE) is a devastating weapon. A standard FAE bomb contains a mixture of highly volatile gases under pressure, with an ignition device. When triggered, the gas fuel is released, dispersing over a wide area in a fraction of a second. This cloud is then ignited, creating a powerful area-effect explosion.

FAEs are large bombs, requiring large amounts of fuel to cause extensive damage. The Power of FAEs is reduced by impact armor. The detonators can be specially constructed, or made from home materials. Should the detonator operate on wireless signals, such as radio, it is possible to detonate the payload if the device receives an identical radio signal.

Name: "No See the Man"
Faction: Korg
Type: 2
Description: No See the Man is an aerosolized pheromone cocktail that contains trace amounts of lachryma papaveris and steroid compounds. No See the Man is most effective when taken intravenously, but its effects can be felt if smoked or concentrated and taken orally.

The chemical is native to the Korg homeworld and can only be harvested there. Traditionally, the compound has been used in rituals of dominance, battle prowess, and vision quests. No See the Man has been proven ineffective on all known species other than Korg.

The compound's effects block brain receptors associated with pain, temperature, and pressure. Subjects have been shown to have diminished activity in the frontal lobe that inhibits impulsive decisions and maintains self control and self preservation. Subjects display signs of increased aggression and rage, sending them into a berzerker rage from which there is little chance of controlling them. Subjects are nigh-invulnerable to harm until the compounds expends itself.

Subjects are likely to cause serious harm to themselves with the stress No See the Man puts on the body. Bones have have been known to crack themselves in half under the strain of the increased muscle mass and muscle control. Convert berzerker Korg are considered high priority targets on the battlefield.

Name: Oxygenated Flourocarbons (P4MO)
Faction: Dratali
Status: 2
Description: The oxygenated fluorocarbon compound known as perfluoro-4-methyl-octahydroquinalidine (P4MO) is widely used as a blood substitute. Its use in emergency situations helps to prevent the mismatching of blood types. Fluorocarbons like P4MO also exceed the capabilities of the blood's natural hemoglobin as a vehicle for gaseous exchange. In other words, P4MO dissolves a higher percentage of oxygen from the lungs into the blood. When introduced into healthy subjects, P4MO allows them to achieve higher levels of physical performance. Typical doses last a single week. Repeated doses have adverse health effects.

P4MO is purged through perspiration without being metabolized. P4MO has a half-life of about one week, so treatments are not usually effective beyond that period. Replacing the P4MO lost due to half-life deterioration is not recommended until fluorocarbon levels in the blood drop below 25 percent, which occurs about three weeks after initial application. If replaced too early, P4MO dramatically increases the chance of death by "bubble embolism."

Only certified medics should administer the compound to Dratali soldiers. Restrictions are set in place, but are usually granted upon request.

Name: Plastisteel-7 Catalyst
Faction: Alliance
Status: 1
Description: Many dependable plasteel alloys are on the market, but the alloy known as Plastisteel-7 merits special notice. Developed by a small industrial corp called Plasnetics, Plastisteel-7 was released at competitive prices, and large stockpiles were quickly bought. Shortly after Plasnetics mysteriously went out of business, data hit the shadows that Plastisteel-7 could be destabilized with a special catalyst spray. When the catalyst is applied to Plastisteel-7, the affected area grows warm, bubbles for several minutes and turns into a gooey substance with the consistency of chewing gum. Several hours later it returns to normal. Naturally, most users of Plastisteel-7 recalled their products. A number of facilities still feature Plastisteel-7 in walls and other structural components, simply because they couldn't afford to replace it.

Such a catalyst is popular among thieves and terrorists, as it is an easy way into secure buildings that contain the chemical. Experienced engineers and architects can detect Plasteel-7 on sight, but must be deliberately searching for the flaw. The compound is well known to most criminals, even if procurement may take some time.

Name: Carbon Nanotube Fibers (“Chameleon”)
Faction: Alliance, Dratali
Status: 4
Description: Chameleon undergo a color change with the application of a small voltaic charge. The charge alters the polymer's chemical composition, allowing it to shift between a wide spectrum of hues. Since these polymers are also very durable and can be applied in layers of less than about .1 micron thick, they can be put on virtually any surface without any appreciable loss of flexibility or function. This makes Chameleon useful for chameleon cloaking technology.

A chameleon effect can be achieved by combining Chameleon and imaging scanners. The scanners view the surrounding environment and send the data through an imaging processor. The processed data is then fed to the Chameleon surface so that the surface mimics the color and image of whatever is around it. At least four imaging scanners, strategically placed to receive full surround information, are required for the effect. More scanners give cleaner and more "correct" images. The imaging processors are quick enough to cloak a walking person, but they are unable to shift fast enough to cloak running people or moving vehicles.

To achieve a cloaking effect, the entire object must be covered with Chameleon. Individuals without a suit or fitted armor with Chameleon can manage this by wearing a Chameleon-covered cloak or body suit.

Faster users of Chameleon must decrease their speed or risk detection by those they wish to avoid. Clothing and armor covered in Chameleon produces a “shimmering” effect when under stress of exceptional speeds. Faster speeds increases this effect to the point where the advantages of the stealth technology are rendered moot.

Name: Slap Patch
Faction: Alliance, Dratali, Civilian
Status: 1
Description: Slap patches are adhesive drug-dispensers that release measured doses to allow continual, safe administration of necessary chemicals. Patches must be applied directly against the patient’s skin. Dermal armor hinders their effects (possibly rendering it useless), and blood filtration implants make all but the trauma patch ineffective. Slap patches come in four varieties: antidotes, stimulants, tranqs and trauma patches. The items are available at most major retailers.

Name: Slip Spray
Faction: Alliance, Dratali, Civilian
Status: 1
Description: Developed as a crowd-control device, Slip spray is a slick, frictionless gel dispensed by a spray tank, water cannon or splash grenade. Slip spray is a top-quality lubricant that makes any movement extremely difficult. Holding an object coated in slip spray is also challenging. Slip spray breaks down over a short period and easily washes off. Slip spray can be ordered from most manufacturers.

Name:
        Splat Glue
Faction: Alliance, Dratali, Civilian
Status: 1
Description: Also known as "tangier," "loogey" and "goober," splat glue is a gooey and sticky adhesive gel designed for nonlethal restraint. Usually launched from specialized splat guns, splat glue can be applied on the ground and other surfaces to catch anyone or anything that touches it. Splat glue is biodegradable and can be dissolved with a special solvent.

Anything that comes into contact with splat glue sticks to it. Removing an object or person from the glue requires great strength or the proper solvent to dissolve the gel. Objects might require several attempts to remove. Slip spray breaks down over a short period and easily washes off. Slip spray can be ordered from most manufacturers.

Name: Oxygen-Reactant Foam (“Jack-in-the-Box”)
Faction: Alliance, Dratali, Civilian
Status: 2
Description: This stable explosive is a sticky foam distributed from a simple canister-much like shaving cream. It is similar to plastic explosives in that it is detonated by electric current.

Name:
        Thermite
Faction: Alliance, Dratali, Civilian
Status: 2
Description: Thermite is an incendiary material sometimes used in welding operations. When ignited, thermite burns at extremely high temperatures and is capable of eating through iron, steel and plasteel. Sometimes packaged as a "burning bar," it consists of a rod of thermite and compressed oxygen mounted on a "handle" and in a frame. Though difficult to find, burning bars are favored by safecrackers, as they can be used to easily melt holes through thick metal.

Thermite can melt through most metals in seconds. Typical melting time is one centimeter of steel every one second. Higher concentrations of thermite can melt blockages faster. A thermite reaction is very recognizable.

Thermite issues gouts of sparks and is highly flammable, setting fire to what is in the immediate vicinity. Flammable materials, such as clothing, will catch fire. Any organic material that touches a thermite reaction will be scalded and burned, if not destroyed. Only the strongest of metals can resist thermite burns:  883 °C (1,621 °F) to 2,519 °C (4,566 °F).

Thermite can be bought from industrial retailers, or produced by home made means. Home made thermite cannot be traced, but the remains can be identified as not industrial issue.

Faction: Alliance, Dratali, Civilian
Status: 3
Description: A fuel-air explosive (FAE) is a devastating weapon. A standard FAE bomb contains a mixture of highly volatile gases under pressure, with an ignition device. 'thermobaric bomb' is the correct name for these types of weapons. flammable liquids and plastic explosives are used in FAEs as well.

Ooh, more idea drugs!

Name: Theenuk
Faction: Dratali
Status: 2

Theenuk is a high explosive compound which draws the surrounding mana in inefficiently creating the very high heat needed to ignite the explosive. It has an adhesive base and can be shaped in a certain direction as it is cuboid in standard shape. It is mainly used as a breach and clear method for grunts however is also used in suicide bomber attacks with Dratali converts.

(Sorry for the lack of info, I'm running on empty with sleep and brain power is steadily declining, I hate coffee.)

Name:
Dihydrogen Oxide
Faction:
Alliance, Dratali, Civilian
Level:
1
Description:
A naturally occurring chemical compound on certain types of planets, that when found in abundance causes said planet to be automatically targeted for colonization. Can naturally be found in both solid and liquid form. It is preferred in liquid form, and in certain civilizations such is used as currency due to its value in sustaining life, but can easily be exploited with certain mining tools when found in solid form. Can only be found in gas form in extremely high temperatures and briefly before entropy causes the compound to break down into its base components.

Name:
Bis 2-Chloroethyl Sulfide
Faction:
Alliance
Level:
5
Description:
Manufactured under specific laboratory conditions, was first discovered by Humans in the 19th Century when a Belgian Scientist experimented on sulfur dichloride with ethylene. Additional methods of synthesizing the resulting, clear, bitter-smelling liquid in significant batches were discovered over the next 75 years. The chemical found use as an area-denial weapon, being released in vapor form via burning or artillery projectile, when a massive war erupted in the beginning of the 20th century.
The substance is extremely toxic with pronounced mutagenic effects on flesh, causing visible second and third degree burns to appear 24 hours after exposure followed by massive boils filled with a yellow liquid erupting shortly thereafter. When inhaled, the lungs erupt more easily, causing hemorrhaging and internal bleeding. In either case, severe exposure is debilitating and eventually fatal.
Manufacturing was banned by agreements between Human nations at the end of the 20th century, but in interstellar war, such bans really have no enforcement.

Three guesses what these two future-sounding chemical compounds really are... :trollestia: And no fair using Google!

I'm making fake ones, or modifying existing one for cooler purposes. Think about dispelling Odysseus in the water supply and bond it to ecstasy. Watch the fun.

1052523 I find it easier to simply use older, more obscure compounds when engaging a hostile intelligence. They will normally always go after your latest and most advanced research, and ignore the simple solutions each time, thus leaving themselves exposed to attack from an unexpected quarter.

It is amazing how easy it is that many sci-fi installations could be taken out with a single chemical explosive slipped past sensors set to detect energy weapons and 'advanced' explosive compounds, placed in the most unexpected location.

I have more in terms of stuff. These are only chemical compounds. I still have to write up the chemicals. Of chemicals, all the chemicals, this is about a third.

That's not to say I won't use older chemicals. In fact, you you want to make entries for more, like arsenic, ecstasy, or PCP, I'd be more than happy to enter them in the final document.

I was going to say Dihydrogen Monoxide, but I see darkangel beat me. Did you know that people have been duped into signing a petition to ban it? Athletes use it to enhance performance, nuclear power plants use it to work, it's in the streams, rivers, and oceans, and no matter how much you try, it is impossible to remove its taint from food, even when rinsing it. And did I mention that people of all ages have access to devices that allow them to launch this chemical? THE HORROR!

And now something odd about water: hydrogen is flammable, and oxygen is flammable. Put them together, and you get something used to put out fire. It's kind of like how sodium and chlorine are poisons on their own, but together make sodium chloride, or salt, which we need to survive.

Name: Theenuk
Faction: Dratali
Status: 2
Description: Theenuk is a high explosive compound which draws in the surrounding mana in a ten meter radius, inefficiently creating the very high heat needed to ignite the explosive. The explosive fallout prevents absorption of ambient mana in the detonation range for the next hour.

It has an adhesive base and can be built to detonate in a certain direction to maximize the destructive potential, as it is cuboid in standard shape. Theenuk is mainly used as a breaching and clearing charge for grunts. However it is also used in suicide bomber attacks with Dratali converts. Although not as effective as most explosives, it is cheaper and easier to make.
