Gammaverse is about the end of our world. And the beginning of new ones. And the ways in which humanity is making good on their escape. Some say the sleeper ships are the best choice; but these do not have the capacity to accommodate so many billions across the frigid light-years to a new home.
For everyone else: There's Equestria.
A world desperately in need of the human spirit, but viciously hostile to the human body.
Which would you become?
A Pony? Durable, resilient in body and spirit, Master of Diplomacy, Trade, and Magic?
A Gryphon? Swift as light, and agile as the wind, Noble Warrior and Protector?
A Dragon? Armored enough to shrug off a railgun round, Force of pure nature?
How about a Zebra, famed for their alchemical skills, runic knowledge, and magical machines. Or perhaps a Minotaur; Zen, with a hidden core of fury.
Even a Diamond Dog; will you roll the dice? Risk becoming a Troll, for the chance to be a Lupine or Vulpine?
Gammaverse is about the end of the old world, the start of the new...
... And all the battles, prophecies, magic, technology, politics, betrayal, failure, triumph, and friendship that goes with it. Some people might argue that Gammaverse is a Conversion Bureau sub-universe. This is quite true in a technical sense. But only in a technical sense.
Maybe you love TCB fics. Maybe you hate them. Maybe you've never seen them before. It doesn't matter. Gammaverse is different enough that you can't prejudge it based on any past TCB experience. Good or Bad. You may not like TCB as a whole, but find Gammaverse a quick favorite. We've had many readers like that. Or you may like other TCB, and Gammaverse might not be to your liking.
Even if, like me, you found certain TCB stories to be well crafted, but just not your particular personal cup of tea; you should give Gammaverse a shot. It is that unique.
In the past, plenty of people have pre-judged these works based simply on seeing 'The Conversion Bureau' in the title.
Whether that comes from folks immaturely, and foolishly, dismissing a book based on its cover, or whether that comes from outright spite, it is the reason that some of the works are not marked at TCB.
A story deserves a chance to be read.
For those who have no idea what TCB is, this all advantageously means that you don't need to understand and assimilate external material to leap into Gammaverse.
Like TCB-fics-proper, Gammaverse is about a world in which one of the primary driving mechanics, and conflicts, is the ability and necessity to transform into something other than human.
Unlike other TCB, the focus is broad, touching in some significant way on all the Equestrian races. The stories are about far more, however, than this central mechanic. Gammaverse has a lore of immense scope.. This touches on human technology and history, Equestrian magic, and the history, culture, and technology of all the Equestrian races.
The core of the universe is the Hegira Trilogy. All told, this saga is slated to be longer than the complete Lord of the Rings; so if you like depth and complex emotions, plots, politics, and enormous battles...
This is your lucky day.
If you always prefer short-n-sweet, Gammaverse is probably not for you.
Are these stories you want to read?
Well, that's simple...
Do you like fantasy? Do you like science fiction? Intrigue? Mystery? Immense Battles? Political Machinations? Ancient Prophecies?
Do you like Gryphons and Dragons?
Then this is definitely for you. Welcome.
