305457 Okay, that was kind of rude, sorry.

There are too many of these groups.

That doesn't sound like making an arguement to me, amigo, it sounds like you want us all gone. So what if therer are a lot of Christian groups, what's it to you? And it's not just here, I saw what you posted on the Christian Bronies group. You weren't starting a debate, you were just insulting everybody.

I like how Atheist use words like "rational" and "reason". They start to make hypocrites out of themselves.

305456 "I can come over here and have a go at you for having an opinion" I'm allowed to have an opinion, and if it's your view that I don't have the right to have an opinion then so be it. I didn't hurt anyone, didn't swear, and didn't make threaten anyone. Spitting in faces? No, I simply said 'there are to many if these groups'

305455 So, basically, "I can come over here and spit in you guys' faces if I want to because I think there are to many of you." It's Atheist like you who really dampen my trust in the rest.

304986 That there are to many of these groups. Was there something about it that you didn't understand?

302462 What's your problem? :ajbemused:

no.....i've personally witnessed the power of god. feel free to pm me for the story.

302585 This is called a confirmation bias, information is more believable if it's in favor of what you believe in. If I was to give you evidence against god, you would find it unbelievable, even if it was a fact.

There was a psychologist named John Watson, and he discovered that they way a person is brought up changes their life in a huge way. His words were: 'Give me a dozen healthy infants, well-formed, and my own specified world to bring them up in and I'll guarantee to take any one at random and train him to become any type of specialist I might select – doctor, lawyer, artist, merchant-chief and, yes, even beggar-man and thief, regardless of his talents, penchants, tendencies, abilities, vocations, and race of his ancestors. I am going beyond my facts and I admit it, but so have the advocates of the contrary and they have been doing it for many thousands of years'.

I was a catholic for quite a long time, so atheism was pretty insane to me. But, once I started to look further into things, I found that what I had been believing in all this time had nothing going for it. I looked at things from both sides. I even had a religious mother and atheist farther, neither of which pushed anything on me. So I was free to decide for myself.

From what have said so far, you were looking to belong, and to have purpose. You chose the most accepted religion and stuck with it, and it made you feel good. You were in with a crowd, you were the sole creation of a wonderful god and nobody could tell you anything else. This is called the backfire effect, evidence against your belief will grow more and more absurd until you no longer acknowledge it.

What I'm trying to say is think for your self, don't choose 'what feels most comfortable', choose fact over faith. Once you accept facts you're more likely to feel better. The happiest countries in the world have the highest amount of atheists. Feel free to PM me to ask questions.

302583 You felt like you had purpose? That you were part of something bigger? Tell me, did the bible seem more believable after listing to people in favor of Christianity?

302582
when i started litsening to conservative talk radio because i was really idiotic at that point. you see when i became totally christian i felt...just better for some reason.

302581 See, that's not atheism. Atheism is not believing that there is a higher being, due to the lack of evidence. When did you start to because more religious?

302580
that would be a better way to describe it.

302579 And that's the only reason? I don't really think you were an atheist, I just think you were not following a religion.

302577
because i was sick of having to adhere to a ton of rules that seemed stupid at that point.

302576 And why were you an atheist?

302574
yes and yes. but i came to this conclusion on my own. was atheist for a while infact.

302573 I'm going to guess here and say you're still living at home. And that you have a christian family, am I right? If not, we'll get to that next.

302571
why do you ask.....christianity seems the most believable of the 3 abarahamic faiths which are the most believable group of faiths to me at least.

302569 I will post no bad stuff here, insulting never gets you anywhere. But I do have a question, why are you a christian and not Muslim?
