Hi there, this is Dan talking on behalf of the admin crew here at AHA. In light of the recent temporary ban for user The Music Man for a few things, we decided it best if a thread was created to explain a few things so that you can avoid them in the future.

First off, advertisements. Now, we haven't explicitly stated anywhere that advertisements for groups are not to be posted in the forums, but it has past been a common courtesy to give a heads-up if you are planning to do so, so that we may check to make sure this is the sort of group we wouldn't mind being advertised in our forums. Of course, this isn't the sort of offense that would incur a temporary ban on its own, but it is still something we ask that you pay attention to, as with an increase of members (and recent incidents over certain images) means that we have to keep a tighter control over what people are sending other people to.

Next, we would like to restate something that should be considered common knowledge. Here at Authors Helping Authors, we've managed to build up a friendly community that has no qualms with swiftly helping out a fellow user in need, and we'd like to congratulate you all with helping the group achieve such a reputation. However, as such, we do not condone or otherwise allow any kind of insulting remarks towards any user, and anyone caught doing so will receive swift justice from the admin team here. Just to be clear, an insulting remark is considered to be so if it decided that it qualifies as one by the admin team.

Lastly, we would like to make it clear that we, the admin team of AHA, are here to make sure that the running of this group goes as smoothly as possible. In regards to this, even if something is not explicitly against the rules, the admin team has the final say in what goes. Of course, we will take comments from the community into account; but ultimately, it is the admins of AHA that make the call on something. Also, even though it may seem like it a sole member of the admin team that is calling the shots in a particular issue, rest assured the issues that require it (such as the temporary banning of a user) is discussed amongst the entire admin crew to make sure it is the right decision to make.

As a final note, a temporary ban lasts for two weeks. After that time, a banned user may return to the group, but any further issues caused by them may incur a permanent ban.

1343277 That is irrelevant, this thread is less about his banning and more of explaining what he did that was bannable, and that users should not do such things.

This group makes the Mormon Church seem reasonable and intelligent. Also asshats.
