So I'm just curious, what is your favorite Floyd song? Leave a description, long or short, (or don't if you want to!) as to why so, with a possible link or youtube embed video.

Mine would probably have to Comfortably Numb, simply because it was one of the first rock songs I ever heard, and absolutely loved. I remember sitting at the computer for hours on end playing games, all while having this song on repeat. Never drove me nuts, it's just one of those things that you could play over and over and never get sick of, you know? And that solo!

I haven't listened to too much Pink Floyd, but I'd go with one Of These Days

548314 Comfortably Numb is awesome, but from "The Wall", I'd go with "Hey You".

My favorite of all tiem, the one that got me into Pink Floyd is "Wish You Were Here"

This is really hard to pick one because in my opinion Pink Floyd's songs within an album are meant to be viewed as one experience rather than individual songs.

Take 'Dark Side of the Moon' for example:

As a vinyl record, 'Side A' consisted as life, from birth to death.
Track 1 (Speak to Me): 0:00 First Heart Beat
Track 2 (Breathe): 1:08 Birth
Track 3 (On the Run): 3:57 Life Itself
Track 4 (Time): 7:49 Reflection
Track 5 (The Great Gig in the Sky): 14:39 Death and Ascension

'Side B' is the Earthly Human Experience:
Track 6 (Money): 19:23 Greed
Track 7 (Us and Them): 25:46 War
Track 8 (Any Colour You Like): 33:36 Peace and Tranquility
Track 9 (Brain Damage): 37:02 Drugs
Track 10 (Eclipse): 40:49 All the petty things we do has no meaning because we all die in darkness in the end.

Pink Floyd is an experience that differs from each listener, but if I REALLY had to pick one.....

Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I-V) from 'Wish You Were Here'

This is a very difficult question. I'd probably have to go with "Comfortably Numb" in regards to just The Wall album, but... All time? I have to seriously think about that. Given any of the 14 studio albums, I could tell you my favorite from each.

The Piper at the Gates of Dawn - "Astronomy Domine"
A Saucerful of Secrets - "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun"
More - "Green is the Colour"
Ummagumma (Studio) - "Sysyphus"
Ummagumma (Live) - "A Saucerful of Secrets"
Atom Heart Mother - "Fat Old Sun"
Meddle - "Echoes"
Obscured By Clouds - "Wot's... Uh the Deal?"
Dark Side of the Moon - "Money" ("Breathe" is a close second, followed by "Us and Them" and "Time")
Wish You Were Here - "Wish You Were Here"
Animals - "Sheep"
The Wall - "Comfortably Numb" ("Hey You" is a close second)
The Final Cut - "When the Tigers Broke Free" (or "Not Now John," if WTTBF doesn't "count")
A Momentary Lapse of Reason - "One Slip"
The Division Bell - "A Great Day for Freedom" (and "High Hopes," it's a tie)

That being said, I'd probably have to agree with Regidar on this one. WISH YOU WERE HERE!!!

I personally prefer Dark Side of the Moon and anything afterwards, although Meddle is quite good, as well.

Time

Shine On You Crazy Diamond

Dogs

Another Brick in the Wall Part 1 & 2 (with, of course, Happiest Days of Out Lives in between), Hey You, Comfortably Numb, Run Like Hell, Waiting for the Worms, and The Trial.

The Gunner's Dream

Learning to Fly, The Dogs of War, One Slip, On The Turning Away, Terminal Frost, and Sorrow

High Hopes

There are many more songs that I like, but these are all I'll share for now.

Not even going to try.

It's like asking me to choose between my kids or something....
