I think (although I could be wrong) that Dyslexic Foal means "generation" in a broader sense than series; ie. Original Series (1960s), Next Generation (1980s-2000s), Abramsverse (2009 onward), Discoveryverse (2017 onward). Possibly you could consider the first six Star Trek movies to be a generation too.
