Near a peaceful forest far west of Canterlot, a sudden loud bang rippled through the air scaring the animals that lived there.
Within the airship...
"That was awesome!" Zidane yelled as he fell back from the sudden stop
"I beg to differ." Sunset said in an annoyed tone as she was sprawled out upon the lower floor
"Lighten up a bit... Hey we’re close, hold on." Zidane said as he turned the wheel to the right and began to descend.
"Close to where exactly?" Sunset asked as she looked out the porthole and saw a small clearing with a house and a barn in the middle of it.
"What was that?" a large man with a brown beard, and wearing a blue outfit with red gloves and boots asked as he walked out of his house and saw an airship coming down right in the clearing.
"Hey, Cid look what I found." Zidane said as jumped off the parked ship.
"H-how can you find something like this boy." Cid said as he took a good look at the ship as a rope ladder came down the side
"More like stole it." Sunset said as she climbed down
"Stolen is such an ugly word. I would say I commandeered it." Zidane said as he stretched. "Hey Cid, can you do something for me?" He asked
"Ahh. Sure what is it?" Cid asked as he looked at the handy work of the ship
"Can you alter the ship so it can't be recognized?"
"I can do that in my sleep. Now who is this lovely lady?" Cid said as he snapped out of his trance now truly noticing Sunset.
"Oh her? She’s Sunny. Ahw." Zidane said as he got elbowed by Sunset
"It’s Sunset Shimmer." She said as she raised her hand
"Cid Pollendina, Airship engineer." He said shaking her hand
"I figured as much with your get up." She said as she let go
"Feisty one, you know how to pick'em." Cid said to Zidane
"Pick wha..."
"He means crew members,right?" Zidane said with a slight blush
"That’s it boy." Cid said with a chuckle
"Well." Zidane said with a stretch. "I am going to take a nap. Call me when dinner's ready." He said as he walk to the house as Cid walked towards the barn
"So, how do you know Zidane?" Sunset asked Cid as she followed
"I can ask the same, with you being the princess’ student and all." Cid said as he looked through his tool box to see if he had everything
"You know who I am?"
"Aye. Your name came up a lot in the castle engine room." He said as he picked up the tool box and head back to the ship
"So you worked in the castle. Then why live here?" She asked as she followed him back to the ship
"I don't like the hustle and bustle of Canterlot so I came here to relax." He said as he started to climb the Rope
"So Zidane is a local then?"
"Nope. Found him passed out in the middle of the woods surrounded by Goblin a few month's back." Cid said as he stopped climbing and let out a sigh. "I think you need to rest a bit, it looks like you have been thought a lot today. There is a spare bedroom on the top floor second door on the left." he said right before he continued to climb
Later that night
"Man I am starving." Zidane said as he sat down at the kitchen tables as Cid placed a bowl filled with a green soup in front of him
"What is this?" Sunset said as she stared at the bowl in front of her
"Sorry, it's all I have. Didn’t expect Zidane to come back this early, and bring a guest too." Cid said as he sat down
"It's not half bad." Zidane said as took a big spoonful of soup
"Ok.." Sunset said as right before she took a sip of her soup. "Uhm. Not bad, it's missing something." she said
"Hey, why don't we go into town tomorrow? It would be fun." Zidane said
"Thats a great idea. You can even get some groceries while you're there." Cid added
"Fine I guess." Sunset said
The next day
"And here we are. The little town of Mist." Zidane said as they walked passed the gate.
"Never heard of it." Sunset said as she looked around, the town was small and surrounded by trees with only two dirt paths leading out of the city.
"Yeah. Its not on many maps due to the population. The towns Folk don't really mind that much." Zidane said as got swarmed by a bunch of children.
"Did you bring anything for us?" One of the kids asked
"Sorry, I have been busy. I promise next time for sure." Zidane said, getting a few awws from some of the children.
"You seem popular here." Sunset said as the children ran away to go play.
"I guess. I helped out a few weeks back, they had money issues due to all the traders that had come by and sold everything at triple the normal price." Zidane said as he started to walk to the market.
"And how pray tell did you help.?" Sunset asked as she followed.
"I used my skills to… Let's say “borrow” some items from a lone trader." Zidane said as he looked over a crate of fruit picking up an apple.
"Right.. Say if I am going to see the world don't I need a weapon or something?" she asked
"I guess. Why?" He said as he payed for his fruit.
"There's a weapon shop over there that's why." She said pointing at a store.
"Aah. Sure let’s get what we need first." Zidane said as he walked over to the butcher shop.
After buying their necessities, they walked into the weapon shop.
"Welcome to Henry's Weapons, were each purchase is gratine to be the one for you." A short man with a grey beard said behind a counter.
"Nice to see you Henry." Zidane said as he looked around
"Ahh decided to take my offer?" Henry asked
"No way am I parting with these daggers for a collapsible bō staff. I am here for her." Zidane said as he pointed at Sunset as she gave a weak wave.
"Ahh. Someone new. Come this way." Henry said as he ushered them into the back room.
In the back room there was a small table with a crystal ball in the middle.
"Sit, sit." Henry said as he sat down. Sunset sat down as Zidane leaned back on the wall.
"Now touch to crystal ball and let us see." Henry said.
"Umm. Ok." Sunset said as she hesitantly touched the orb.When she finally touched the orb it began to glow red for a few seconds.
"Ahh. I see your calling and the weapon that best suits you." Henry said as we walked back to the storefront Zidane and Sunset followed. "Let’s see, Let’s see. Ah here it is." He said as picked up a rapier with a red gem embedded in the bottom of the hilt.
"A rapier." Sunset said as she looked at it.
"Indeed. A fast moving weapon and has an element gem as well." Henry said as he pointed at the gem. "With the gem you can use magic as will as strike the foe."
"I see." Sunset said as she gave a couple of test swings. "I am liking the feel." She said as a smile crept onto her face.
"I aim to please. Now for the cost." Henry said as he rang up the item.
"What!? 2500 Gill for a rapier?" Zidane asked shocke to see the cost.
"Well it's for that and the item you stole. You thought just because I'm old does not mean I can't see you." Henry said giving Zidane a look
"Um. Could never get anything passed you." Zidane said as he payed
"Let's see." Zidane said as he walked out of the store right before his stomach growled.
"I guess it's lunch time then. So where's the best palce." Sunset said
"That would be Quina place s/he makes the best sandwiches. It's this way." Zidane said as he ran off.
"Woah, wait for me!" Sunset said as she ran after him.
