It was Valentine day,  a day for love and for sweets to be all around.  As the festivities went on a pony crept through the crowd with a soft, quiet  “sorry”  Every time she bumped into a human.  This mare’s name was Fluttershy and she was on a mission to get her crush to notice her.  Lately she and her friends had been sent on a mission by princess Celestia to make a new friend in the form of a human.  This human however had made friends in the form of two freelance police officers;  one a canine named Sam the other a lagomorph named Max.  Max caught Fluttershy’s attention and attraction although he had no romantic feelings for her. 

Fluttershy had a plan on how to win his heart even if she had to do it using amoral actions for as they say ‘love makes you do crazy things’. She brought along a close friend of hers;  Ditzy Do otherwise known as Derpy Hooves or lady Brighteyes as a sort of in-joke between her and Derpy.   Sadly Derpy had poor depth perception due to a birth defect involving her eyes which in turn gave her the nickname of Derpy but Fluttershy hoped that if Derpy focused enough she’d be able to hit Max with a love poison dart she herself crafted.  

Twilight Sparkle researched love poison after the incident with Big Macintosh and Cheerilie and figured out that in small doses it causes the poisoned to have a similar reaction to a real crush on someone and could only be vanquished if the pony they fall for returns the feelings with a true love’s kiss.  Since Fluttershy already had a crush on Max all she had to do was be the first pony Max saw after he was hit with the dart and everything would fall into place.  Derpy lined up the bow and dart and closed her bad eye to focus on her target, everything was perfect until...   ”HEY DERPY!!”   A sudden shout from the bushes made Derpy jump and shout.  This also caused her to accidently fire the dart.
