All was silent in the large room. The room was filled with large book shelves and a long desk with four chairs sat in front of it and a large cushioned throne-like chair made from white marble and on it sat a tall white alicorn mare with a rainbow-like mane and tail, Celestia! The four chairs opposite her were occupied by three alicorn mares and a unicorn stallion. The four ponies had been there for 10 minutes and no one had said a word yet, they were all very confused as to why they had been summoned. It stayed like this until finally someone broke the ice.
"Sister," the blue alicorn mare, Luna said. "why have you called us all here?"
"Ah yes," the white alicorn began. "I have called you all here to tell you some excellent news!"
Luna tilted her head in confusion. "What news is this?"
"We are going to have a new student!" Celestia exclaimed.
"Really?" a pale pink alicorn with a pink, purple and yellow mane and tail asked excitedly.
"Yes, Cadence," Celestia said smiling. "that is why I called you and Shinning Armour here. As head god and goddess of the school you are in charge with welcoming new students, so I would like you to make sure that they feel welcome!"
"Don't worry principle Celestia," a white unicorn stallion with a dark blue mane and tail said, putting his arm around Cadence. "we always make sure that new students are welcomed with open hooves!"
"I know," Celestia stated, smiling down at the young couple. "but I need you to pay close attention this one, she's...special.
Celestia turned and stared out of the window behind her desk, lost in thought. The ponies all looked at the mare, with confused looks on their faces.
"Ahem," a pale blue alicorn with a lavender mane and tail said, smiling sweetly at the older alicorn. "what did you call me here for, Aunt Tia?"
"Oh right," Celestia said, snapping back into reality. "Harmony, I would like you to help to keep the students in order, we want this welcome to go as smoothly as possible and we cant do that if we have students behaviour being out of order, Nightshade will assist you with this task!"
Harmony's eyes widened. "Nightshade is gonna be there!" she asked excitedly.
Cadence raised an eyebrow. Harmony quickly realised her mistake.
"I mean, that's cool, I guess. I mean its not like I care or anything! He can come if he wants to help, it doesn't bother me! she said rapidly, smiling nervously.
"Alright," Harmony said, quickly trying to change the subject. "so who is this mystery student?"
"Her name is Twilight Sparkle," Celestia began. "she lives in the small town of Ponyville with her parents. She has just turned 17 years old and is a very powerful unicorn that has a lot of potential! She has the potential to be a prize student and would be a great asset to our school!"
"So," Luna said mockingly. "When will your prize student be arriving?"
"Tomorrow morning!" Celestia said with a smile
"Well then," Luna said, smiling. "I suggest that we all get some sleep before the arrival of Celestia's prize student. Don't you all think?"
The other three ponies nodded and Luna led them out of the room and closed the door behind her.
"Yes," Celestia chuckled quietly to herself. "a prize student indeed!"
The Next Day
It was early in the morning and the sun had risen and the birds were singing. Everypony was happy and content, all except one. Outside of Canterlot High stood a nervous lavender unicorn mare with a dark purple mane and tail with pink highlights, having a debate with herself about whether she should enter or not.
Come on Twilight you can do this! she thought to herself as she stood in front of the large double doors to her new school.
The last few days were still a complete blur to her, first she received a scroll from the gods to inform her that she has been chosen to attend a school for gifted gods and goddesses, she had always known that she was a goddess, after all her father was Night Light, god of the stars, but she never thought that she was that powerful, after all she was only a demi-god as her mother, Twilight Velvet, was mortal. So when she told her father he was ecstatic, he practically kicked her out of the door, he was extremely excited that his daughter was following in his footsteps, he didn't even protest to the fact that she wouldn't be living at home anymore but instead on campus with the rest of the students. So the carriage came that morning and now there she was standing outside the doors, contemplating if she should be brave and face the music or turn around and run all the way back to Ponyville. Her mind was leaning more towards the latter until she thought about her father, and how disappointed he would be if she didn't take this opportunity. She had finally made up her mind, she was going to do this, for her father!
And with that final thought she took a deep breath, opened the doors with her magic and stepped forward into her new life!
