Chapter 12: The Last Roundup
“Are you awake yet, you lazy bum? We have to help with Applejack’s party.” Rainbow said nudging me with her hooves.
“UUUUHHH.” Is what I responded with.
“Are you okay?”
“I don’t feel so well.”
“Oh, well I can stay here and try to take care of you, I mean I’m not like Fluttershy at that stuff, but...”
“You don’t have to do that. I’ll be fine. Just say hi to AJ for me.”
“Okay I guess. Bye Seth, I love you.”
“I love you too."
Rainbow flew out and I just lied there unable to sleep.
Sooner that I expected Rainbow came back.
“The party over already?” I asked.
“Applejack didn’t show up.”She responded.
“What?” I asked as sitting up. “What happened?”
“We don’t know. All that happened was that we got a letter from her saying she’s not coming back. So we’re going to look for her. Will you be okay here without me? I mean since you’re sick and all.”
“Of course. Besides Applejack might be in trouble or something.”
Rainbow hugged me and said “Okay Seth, I’ll hopefully see you in a few days.”
“Good luck at finding Applejack. I’ll see you when you get back. I love you.”
“I love you too.”

A few days later I was starting to feel much better, but I figured I should still rest. So I laid down in bed and drifted off to sleep.
I opened my eyes to see that I was surrounded by nothing, but black.
“Great a dark void. I haven’t seen this before.” I said out loud in a very sarcastic tone. “Seriously do I have any imagination? So, what is it this time? That evil looking version of me? Discord?”
“Not even close.” Said an unfamiliar voice that seemed to have a undetectable accent.
Right before my eyes a giant callum of fire rose from the ground. When it seddled down all was left a strange creature looking at me.
It seemed dragon-like. It stood on two legs and was probably about 6 feet tall. It had orange skin and had long black hair. It also had huge wings on it’s back.
“Who and what are you?” I asked.
The creature smirked at me. “Greetings I am Inferno and I’m a gargoyle.”
“Aren’t you guys supposed to be made from stone or something?”
“That is a stereotype.”
“Oooookaaaaaaay...So what are you doing in my dream.”
“I brought you to this realm here. You see the princesses trapped me here over a thousand years ago and you are going to help me with my plan.”
“Why would I do that?”
“Oh you and I have something in common. Something that’ll make you question your own significance in the universe.”
“Uhhhhh...what are you talking about?”
“Oh I’m not ready to reveal everything yet.” Inferno snapped his fingers and disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
I woke up right then. I wondered what the hay just happened. Was that all just a dream or was I really just talking to a thousand plus year old gargoyle who have issues with the princesses and claims to have some sort of connection with me? I decided not to take a chance on the latter and got out of bed and sat down at the desk with a quill and piece of paper.
Dear Princess Celestia,
“BOO!” somepony shouted behind me, almost making me spill the ink.
“BAHAHAHAHA!”
I turned to the very familiar laugh to see my favorite pegasus.
“Hey there beautiful, so I assume you found Applejack.”
“Yup.”
“So what happened?”
So Rainbow told me that the reason why Applejack didn’t come back because she didn’t win any prize money at the Canterlot Rodeo and was too ashamed to come back. Seemed legit because she can be stubborn at points and she promised to use the money to fix town hall, which was damaged by Ditzy Doo, who also dropped a wooden beam on Rainbow. Yeah I’m still a little mad at her for that.
During her story I finished writing the letter to Princess Celestia.
“So what did you write to Celestia about?” Rainbow asked me.
“I’ll tell you on the way to Twilight’s.”

So we made our way to the library as I said I explained everything to Rainbow.
When we walked in we were greeted by a loud “WHAT?!”
Twilight stood at the door with her mane in a bit of a mess.
“Oh, Seth, Rainbow. Sorry for shouting it’s just I’m now a few days behind schedule and...” Twilight was saying before I interrupted her.
“Don’t worry it’s understandable Twi. I just need Spike for a second.”
“Hey Seth. I see you’re feeling better.” The little dragon said as he seemed to pop out of nowhere. I levitated the note to him. He took it in his claws and blew flames on it sending it to Princess Celestia.
“So what did you...” Twi began to ask before.
BURP!
A letter came. I leavatated and opened it up the letter only said one sentence.
I’ll be there as soon as I can.

Not long after there was a large flash of light in the middle of the library and when it cleared the Princess was standing before us.
“So...” I began to ask. “Who’s this Inferno guy?”
Princess Celestia was silent for a few seconds before answering.
“About 1,300 years ago Luna and I fought Inferno to stop his war crimes agenst the griffins and we defeated him using the Elements of Harmony. When we did he completly vanished into thin air.”
“So you thought that he got vaporized?” Rainbow asked.
“Yes...that what I hoped, but if he’s contacting Seth that shows that he’s probably still alive.”
“But how can that be?” Twilight asked. “You said you defeated him about 1,300 years ago. Even if he wasn’t killed by the Elements shouldn’t he be dead by now anyways? Last time I cheched the oldest living gargoyle in history was 122 before they died.”
“I’m wondering about that too.” Princess Celestia responded.
“So are you going to have Seth guarded or something?” Twi asked.
“Since Inferno is contacting me in my dreams I don’t think the royal guard can really help much.” I said.
“Maybe you should learn some combat magic. Just in case if you have to stand up against him.”Twi suggested.
Princess Celestia nodded. “That is probably a good idea.”

So it was decided that I would go to Canterlot so somepony from the royal guard can teach me some combat spells.
Rainbow and I were waiting at the train station.
“I’m really going to miss you and I know how excited you were to spend cider season with me and...” I was saying before Rainbow put her hoof on my mouth.
“Seth, I’m really going to miss you too, but this is more important than some cider. I mean if anything happened to you...I just wouldn’t know what I would do.”
I gave her a kiss on her forehead.
“I'm so lucky to have you. I promise that I’ll be back by Hearts and Hooves Day.”
She smiled and gave me a long kiss before the train arrived.
“All aboard to Canterlot!” the conductor called.
“Bye Rainbow, I’ll see you soon. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
