Heroines of Equestria

Into the Frozen Arctic

Into the Frozen Arctic

Angelica was determined. This would be her biggest challenge yet. As a Space Star Sister, Angelica had faced all sorts of events. She had prepared for amazing adventures, brilliant battles and excellent exhibitions, yet nothing compared to the occasion that lay ahead. The mere though of what has to come across was enough to make her mane shiver.

Following close behind her, Seraphina, Persephone and Katherine were struggling to keep up. The three alicorns had remained close together, no matter how hard the situation is. Nevertheless, they were always ready for whatever stands in their way.

“Wow, it sure is breezy around here.” Angelica called, raising her hoof to protect herself from an incoming snowstorm.

“I suppose if that’s what you think.” Seraphina replied, as she and her fellow Space Star Sisters finally caught up with their younger sister.

“Come on, you said it was that way.” Angelica pleaded, reminding her sisters that the only reason for their journey is to find the meteorite.

“We could at least go for a much safer route.” Katherine suggested, eager to get this over and done with.

“Speaking of which, what’s that over there?” Persephone remarked, noticing something in their path.

The Space Star Sisters had suddenly reached towards a meandering river. It was quite shallow, but it appeared to be rather wide. Angelica took one small step forward.

“Be careful.” Seraphina warned, looking concerned about her sister’s safety.

“Well, how else can we get across there?” Angelica reprimanded, getting impatient.

“Hey, what’s the big deal?” Persephone questioned, cutting off the conversation.

“Yeah, we could just take turns!” Katherine suggested, steadily approaching the river and then leaping over it as quickly as possible.

Seraphina grumbled as the rest of her sisters began to leap over the river, before starting to do so herself.

As soon as they finally crossed over, they had continued their journey. By now, they were coming towards a another acre of land. It was surrounded by dense trees, each covered by white masses of snow. Angelica turned her head to look around the surrounding area.

“Wouldn’t you believe it?” Angelica proclaimed, bewildered by the refined attractiveness of the landscape. “It sure looks really cool!”

“Maybe.” Seraphina answered, nonchalantly. “I guess this could lead the way.”

“Well, what are we waiting for?” Persephone requested, looking further ahead.

“Let’s get on with it!” Katherine demanded, rushing into the distance.

Soon, the Space Star Sisters headed deep into the woodland. They were marching through the snowy terrain as they went. Passing by a number of trees, they hiked as carefully as possible. Only until now, is they had suddenly stopped.

“Hey, what is that?” Angelica asked, as she noticed something further ahead into the distance.

“I’m not sure.” Seraphina responded, only just stopping in time.

“Ah, it’s nothing.” Persephone reacted, by resuming on walking.

“Just ignore it.” Katherine advised, trying to not pay attention.

“No, I can see it moving.” Angelica announced, as she watched as the strange thing immediately started to do so.

Whatever that thing was, it was like a chunky, brown blob. Within mere seconds, it had lumbered away from view. Angelica quickly sprinted away from the rest of her sisters.

“Angie!” Seraphina yelled. “Wait!”

Angelica rushed through the woodland, determined to chase after whatever that thing was. As she went faster, the thing was getting closer. Soon they both collided into each other.

Whoops!” Angelica cried, realising what she had ran into.

Surely enough, the creature turned around. It was an elephant, with thick, brown skin, a long trunk and sharp tusks. He stumbled towards Angelica, glaring at her with his deep, orange eyes.

“Hey, watch where you’re going!” the elephant shouted sternly.

“Oh, I’m so sorry!” Angelica apologised, hoping to receive forgiveness.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Space Star Sisters reached the middle of the woodland. They were pleased that their younger sister was present, along with a strange newcomer.

“Angie!” Seraphina cried, with a sigh of relief. “Where have you been?”

“And who might you be?” the elephant asked, not quite believing his very eyes.

“Oh, yeah. I’m Angelica, and these are Seraphina, Persephone and Katherine.” Angelica announced, explaining the Space Star Sisters’ presence.

“Very well, the name’s Trunkle. I’m sure pleased to meet you!” the elephant replied in a friendly manner.

“Okay, thanks for the introduction.” Angelica answered, getting use to meeting newcomers.

“So, what have you been up to?” Trunkle questioned, curious to know more about the Space Star Sisters.

“We’re here to look for a meteorite.” Seraphina reacted, explaining the whole purpose of their journey.

“A meteorite, eh?” Trunkle mused, thinking about the subject. “I’ve heard that one before."

“You do?” Angelica enquired, suddenly surprised.

“Yeah, I saw it flying during my travels!” Trunkle commented, eager to describe his wonderful experience.

“Tell us more.” Persephone requested, wanting a clear investigation.

“Well, it was really big and it look totally shiny like it was glowing!” Trunkle remarked, depicting the situation further.

“So can you tell us where had it gone?” Katherine asked, wanting to know the directions.

“Sure, I think it went that way!” Trunkle replied, as he pointed his trunk to somewhere behind him.

“Okay, thanks for your help.” Seraphina declared, grateful to have provided some advice. “We really appreciated it.”

“No, problem.” Trunkled answered, looking quite proud. “If you need me, I’ll be digging for stuff!”

While the Space Star Sisters had continued their journey, Trunkle went out to his merry way.

As soon as they entered an open space, Angelica and her sisters were marching through the landscape. No sooner that she realised where they were now.

“Hey, look at that!” Angelica cried, noticing something else in another direction.

Surely enough, there was a huge mass of water at the other side of the land. That had to be the sea. It was even larger than most water areas from Equestria.

“Hmm, I don’t know about that.” Persephone declared, looking rather concerned.

“Are you sure it’s a good idea?” Katherine enquired, unsure if that was the most possible path.

“What could possibly go wrong?” Angelica proclaimed, taking a step further near the water.

“I wouldn’t go if I were you.” Seraphina warned, but Angelica wasn’t listening.

“Watch this.” Angelica declared, as she leaped towards a nearby iceberg.

As Angelica stood still on the iceberg, it began to move steadily. It floated on the water as the wind pushed it swiftly along.

“Angie!” Seraphina called out, rushing towards the edge.

Realising her current situation, Angelica tried to jump off but lost her balance. As the iceberg was heading out to sea, something appeared in the water. It was a dorsal fin. Angelica saw that it was speeding towards the iceberg. As it reached the iceberg, it pushed the iceberg backwards. The iceberg bumped into the coast, knocking Angelica back on dry land.

“Angie!” Seraphina cried. “Thank goodness, you’re safe!”

Angelica tried to reply, but she noticed a certain thing in the water.

The fin was still in view. It was sailing towards the land. As it got closer, it looked liked as if it was rising. Suddenly, a head appeared in the water. It had two large eyes, a long beak and a blowhole on top of it. By now, it had reached the shore.

“What is that?” Angelica asked, looking unsure what it even was.

It was a dolphin, with thick gray skin and very long flippers. It jumped out of the water, revealing the rest of its body. It fell back in, with only its head remaining and suddenly opened its beak.

“Hope you don’t mind if I pop in, dudes!” the dolphin announced in a polite manner.

“Who are you?” Angelica enquired, curious about this newcomer’s presence.

“Me? The name’s Whopper, and I’m having a great time!” the dolphin replied, looking as cheerful as ever.

“Well, I’m Seraphina and these are Angelica, Persephone and Katherine.” Seraphina explained, introducing herself and her sisters.

“So, how are you doing?” Whopper questioned, grinning to reveal a row of razor sharp teeth.

“We’re searching for a meteorite.” Angelica answered, lecturing about their current situation.

“Hey, I heard that thing before!” Whopper exclaimed, rising a bit higher from the water.

“Do you know where it went?” Persephone enquired, wanting to know its whereabouts.

“Yeah, it saw it going that way!” Whopper declared, turning himself to the opposite direction.

“Well, thank you for helping us.” Katherine stated, being ever so grateful.

“Oh, you’re going now? I’ll see you later, dudes!” Whopper chirped, as he jumped for one last time before diving into the water.

“Wow, he sure is cool!” Angelica exclaimed, impressed by the dolphin’s charm.

“He was a great help so far.” Seraphina confirmed, proud to be receiving advice.

“I suppose we’ve got a long way to go.” Persephone verified, knowing what to do next.

“Let’s get a move on!” Katherine commanded, before rushing off into the distance.

Soon, Angelica and her sisters had continued their journey towards the next destination to search for the location of the meteorite. Nevertheless, they were always determined to discover much more secrets that thrive beyond. It seems like everything was waiting for them.
