Gone For A Ride.

Get it off!

Rainbow Dash unceremoniously barged through the front door of Fluttershy's home and blurted out her frustration. "Fluttershy! I can't get this thing off me!"

Fluttershy in almost a panic due to both the abrupt intrusion and the distraught state of her friend got up to see what was the matter with her friend.

She reached Dash's side quickly and voiced her concern over Dash's predicament that is still unknown to her. "Now Dash, show me what the matter is. What is it you can't get off?"

Dash raised a hoof and pointed to the base of her neck and upper back. Fluttershy took a look and saw a little greenish blue gecko clinging on right under Dash's mane. It was so small it was almost completely hidden under the mane.

Fluttershy gushed at the site and giggled some despite Dash's frustration. She practically cooed as she commented on what she saw. "Oh' Well, your just the cutest little day gecko, now aren't you. And so colorful. I am so glad Dash came in and let me get a chance to see you."

Fluttershy smiled at the small gecko as Dash gave her exasperation over Fluttershy just standing there admiring the lizard on her back. Dash decided to explain further. "Yea, yea. It's cute already. Now can you help get it off of me? I took a very short rest by the bog after I had cleared some clouds that was forming in that area. After a bit, felt I had been there long enough when I felt something move on my back as I got up."

Dash took a deep breath before she continue. "The darn thing scared the Tartarus out of me, and I took off quickly not knowing what the buck was on me. I mean, for all I knew it could have been some hairy spider, or something like that."

Fluttershy has a giggle for herself again as Dash rolled her eyes over Fluttershy having some amusement at her expense.

Fluttershy could not help but ask, "So, what did you do next? How did you find out what it is that is on you? You didn't try and hurt it did you?" Fluttershy voiced that last part with some concern.

Dash just shook her head some. "I didn't hurt it, but I might have scared it some due to some of my flying efforts to try and shake it off. It did not budge. I landed by the bog again to get a stick to try and pry it off. As I did I got a faint glimpse of it in a reflection in the water. That's when I decided to come to you. I didn't want to hurt it, but it will not let go of that spot either."

Fluttershy still had a look of amusement planted on her face as Dash finished laying out her situation, and how it all happened. But shortly after Fluttershy moved closer to the little gecko to see if she could convince it to move on its own.

She spoke calmly and with some empathy over what she felt Dash had put it through with her flying to try and get it off. It looked at her as she did. "You poor thing. I guess you just didn't know what you got yourself into did you. Well it's all over, and it's safe to let go now."

The thing just sat there and gave a funny little squawking sound. This continued for a few more verbal tones as it seemed to be saying something to Fluttershy. Then it moved slightly as to keep a better grip on where he is. Fluttershy flinched for a moment, and took a step back to face Rainbow Dash. She looked to Dash as if she was suppressing the need to do something spontaneous. Dash was visibly concerned. "So, Flutters, what gives? Is it going to get off or what?"

Fluttershy's face changed to what Dash could tell as Fluttershy trying to control the need to laugh out loud. Fluttershy shook some on the spot before letting it out of her system in a small fit of some more giggling for herself.

Dash was even now more worried as she inquired as to what was so funny to her friend. "Flutters, what is going on? Are you going to help me or what? I don't want this thing on me forever."

Fluttershy's giggling rose to a more comical burst of out right laughing. She took a few more steppes back as it looked as if she felt the need to sit down from all that laughing. A moment after she lifted a hoof to her mouth to help stifle her laughing.

By now Dash was beside herself. She rarely saw Fluttershy in such a state. She definitely wanted to get in on the joke, even if it was on herself. "I take it this thing has no intentions of getting off now is it?"

Fluttershy shook her head slightly with a small smirk of a smile on her. One she was trying to hid with her raised hoof.

Dash, let out a low groan as she lowered her head. "Well, why not?"

Fluttershy continued to smile as she gave dash the news. "You didn't scare him when you took off. You did startle him a bit at first though, for a short moment anyway. But after he knew he was not going to fall, he decided that he liked it. And now, he thinks you are the most exciting ride of his life." Fluttershy started to laugh again.

Rainbow Dash didn't know how to feel about this. She didn't know wither to feel amused herself, or stoked over the compliment, or still frustrated over having a lizard stuck to her upper back that will not come off.

She decided on remaining frustrated as she pleaded with Fluttershy. "Now what!? Can't you do anything about this?"

Fluttershy knew she could but was for the moment having too much fun with this situation. She did have an idea that may push the situation with Dash some more as she moved to whisper it in Dash's ear. "Like everything else he will get hungry. When he gets hungry enough he will leave on his own then."

Fluttershy giggle a bit before stating the last part to her friend. "Just try and stay away from any flying bugs or he will feed while on your back and never come off."

At this last statement Dash took a step back herself before voicing her grievance over the situation. "Oh' come on Fluttershy! Is that all you can tell me? I got to wait till it leaves on its own?"

Fluttershy giggles some more and shook her head slightly as she let Dash off the hook. "No, I was just kidding about all that."

Dash's face contorted in confusion then to surprise as Fluttershy moved back near the little gecko and put her two front hooves out for him to get on them. She voiced to it softly, "Come here to me now. I will take you home." Then the gecko scurried off Dash's back and crawled over Fluttershy's front right leg and up around onto her back.

Dash still has her look of surprise as she questioned the whole thing. "You been pulling my leg this whole time?"

Fluttershy nodded with a smile.

Dash grimaced "And I fell for it?"

Then Dash smiled back to Fluttershy. She gave Fluttershy a light nudge on the shoulder. "Good one Flutters. You really had me going there. But what did that thing tell you anyway?"

Fluttershy leaned over to Dash before saying. "Well, that he had fun, and was wondering if he could have one last fly around before going back home."

Dash looked confused again. "So why not have me just bring it back then? Why did you take it?"

Fluttershy looked confused herself for a moment. "Well, I thought that is what you wanted is for me to take him off you. You can have him back if you wish."

Dash just shook her head. "No, on second thought you can keep him. I had enough for one day."

Dash moved for the door as she gave her thanks and goodby. After Dash was quite gone, Fluttershy went out the door to the outside herself. She looked back to the little gecko and she spoke to him. "Well, little fellow. Looks like it's time to bring you back home. Hold on tight now!"

The little gecko moved to the same spot it was on Dash, and held on tight. It waited in anticipation for a fun flight home, and Fluttershy knew it. Fluttershy looked off in the direction of the bog and took off with a leap into the air.

The thought of giving the cute little gecko one last thrill ride before him settling home again made her heart leap some and a wish to give him a ride to remember.

She thought of how Dash would fly and even more so on how Dash would if trying to shake something off, and knew she could not compete with Dash's performance. To the little gecko she was wrong. This was better.

She did her best to pull a few tricks in the air just the same, despite feeling not up to par with Dash's abilities.

While riding on the back of the rainbow maned blue flying pony was a thrilling and heart pounding experience for the gecko. Dash darted about with speed in a determination to throw her unknown passenger off as he did his best to hold on. He found it hard to hold on which added to the trill, but also made it less enjoyable as this new ride he is now given by the yellow flying pony.

To him, this other yellow pony moved with a smooth gliding grace that was easier to stay with. She dived and swooped along the ground before rising to the sky again, in a flow that left him feeling like he himself was flying.

As she did she kept a mental note to make sure the gecko was still on her. She could feel him still there and that spurred her on to try a few more trick that she felt that she could do on the way to the bog.

A few leaps in the air and twirling later, Fluttershy found herself at her destination.

She found a rock warmed by the sun and moved her hoof towards it. The gecko got the idea and crawled off her and onto the warm rock.

Fluttershy gave him a short wave goodby before taking off again, back to her own home.

The gecko watched as she took off, leaving him there as he wonders if he would ever see either one of them again.
