//------------------------------// // A New Home // Story: Queen Hysteria: The Fallen Star // by SuperCyclone //------------------------------// Friends show their love in times of trouble, not in happiness. -Euripides The queen sat in her room staring at the grandfather clock she owned. She watched as the hand below went right to left and her eyes followed the hypnotizing movement. She was waiting for someone and wanted to talk about the escaped prisoners and her plans to get them back. She wanted the souls of those ponies so that she could become even more powerful and finally become a god. Suddenly, a bright light appeared behind her but she kept on staring at the clock. A pony came from the bright light and the light started to fade away until there was only the fireplace lighting the library. "Twilight? What happened?" Twilight turned around to face her best friend. "They escaped, Rainbow. They didn't want to help so they left!" The cyan pony had an eerie presence that even Twilight was afraid of. "So, this is how you treat me, Twilight? After I died from those stupid changelings and became a spirit you just sit here and wait? What kind of friend is that?" "Look! I'm trying everything I can okay?! I already sent a bunch of guards throughout Equestria for some allies of my own. I know that there is a resistance somewhere here in Equestria. And when I find them I'll crush their heads with my very hoof. And when we finally get their souls I'll free you and I will become the most powerful being in Equestria. No the world! No! Even better, the universe!!!!" Rainbow smiled and narrowed her eyes, "That's more like it! I knew you wouldn't let me down! After all, we're best friends right?" Twilight smiled at her and turned around to face the clock again. Without Twilight knowing, Rainbow Dash suddenly started to glitch and her appearance changed for a split second. The cyan pony smiled evily and turned around, "I'll be around if you need any help, Twilight." She then disappeared leaving Twilight alone with her thoughts. *** Starlight Glimmer woke up from her sleep and yawned. She looked outside and saw the sun rising, she found it strange that even after Celestia the sun rose. Was it Twilight or something completely different? Right now she didn't have time to think about it and went to wake up Trixie. She found her lying on the floor drooling from her mouth and her mane crazy. Starlight wanted to laugh so bad but held her laughter in and shook Trixie gently. "Huh? Wha-" The tired magician woke up and wiped the saliva from her mouth and turned to see Starlight right next to her. "What time is it?" Trixie asked as she got up and rubbed her eyes. "The sun just rose and we should probably be heading towards the Crystal Empire." Trixie nodded slowly and started walking very slow and groaned, "Let me just get fixed up and we'll be on our way." Starlight walked outside and took a deep breath and exhaled the fresh air. It was great to be outside again after being locked away. She was curious as to where they stopped and they were in an open part of the Everfree. Starlight's grin started to fade away as she remembered what happens last night. Her friends, they had separated and now she didn't even know where they were. She just hoped that they were safe somewhere. They just had to be safe. The unicorn heard the sound of hoofsteps behind her and turned to her best friend who had a worried look on her face. "Is everything okay, Starlight?" Starlight simply smiled at her, "I'm fine. Just nervous, that's all." "What are you nervous about? I'm sure Princess Cadance will remember you." "No it's not that. It's just, my friends, we all separated in order to confuse Twilight. I'm still not entirely sure why she wants our souls. First she said she wanted us for a visit, then she comes to me explaining that she plans on reviving Rainbow Dash with our help, and then Spike tells me she just wants power. I'm so confused!" "Yeah," Agreed the magician, "That is a lot to take in. Maybe Cadance knows more about the situation then we do, all I do is take orders. Shall we go?" Starlight nodded, "But what about your home?" "We can come back if we need anything." Starlight nodded and used her magic to teleport them to the Crystal paradise. When they arrived Starlight took a look around and smiled. "Heh, I remember this place when I arrived for the Crystalling like it was yesterday." Starlight's face started to lose its happy look and Trixie quickly tried to cheer her up. "Hey, we better get going!" Starlight simply let out a little smile and walked with Trixie towards the crystal kingdom that stood proud above its land. As they got closer to the door, Starlight spotted two crystal guards who stood in front of the door. They saw Trixie and stepped aside to let her in. The two ponies walked inside and Starlight was in complete awe of the place. It was still as beautiful as it was back then like she remembered it. "Trixie!" Starlight snapped out of her trance and turned to see a teenage alicorn running towards Trixie and hugging her. The magician picked her up with her magic and laughed. "Hey, Flurry Heart! Did you miss me?" Starlight's mouth opened wide as she saw that this grown up teenager was the child of Princess Cadance. Ten years had passed and in that time this baby had grown up to be a teenager! "Flurry. I want you to meet somepony." Trixie let the young princess down and pointed at Starlight. "This is Starlight Glimmer, my best friend." The teenage alicorn walked towards the unicorn and smiled, "You're that pony who was at my Crystalling right?" Starlight nodded not knowing what to say. "This is awesome! So that means you're friends with the Elements of Harmony! Well, come on! Wait till my mom sees you!" Flurry Heart ran up towards the Crystal stairs and the two friends followed her, staying back a little to talk to each other. "Wow," Starlight said, "I can't believe that's Flurry Heart. I can't believe it's been that long." Trixie turned towards her friend and chuckled, "So it is true, you were at the Crystalling?" "Well yeah! Twilight took me there for a friendship lesson, let's just say it didn't go well the first time." The two laughed at the thought of Twilight with her list, but their smiled faded when they remembered the NEW Twilight. Hysteria. "Don't worry, Starlight. I know that Twilight and I weren't exactly friends when we first met, but I know there is still good in her. She was the Princess of Friendship, I'm know there is still light." Starlight smiled as a tear fell from her eye, "Thank you, Trixie." The two walked inside a large room with huge pillars against the walls. There, at there far end of the room, was a princess seated on the throne. The princess noticed the two unicorns and walked towards them. "I don't believe it! Is that you, Starlight?"
