The One For Her

Feelings

Rainbow Dash trotted happily about the streets, whistling as she held a piece of paper under her wing. She was headed for the castle to give Twilight Sparkle that piece of parchment. The light cerulean pegasus had always wanted to hang out with her.

She had never really gotten the chance for it. Soon, she arrived at the front doorstep. She held up a hoof and knocked. Seconds later, a purple dragon opened the door. "Oh, hi, Rainbow Dash!" the dragon named Spike said as he moved aside, letting her in.

As Dash trotted along the long hallways, she checked in every door. Twilight was in none of the rooms. Soon, the hall split up into thirds. She took one path and opened the first door to the right with the open wing. She peeked inside. It was the library. Piles of books were stacked around a purple alicorn as she flipped the pages of one.

The lavender princess looked over in the pegasus' direction. "Hi, Rainbow! What brings you to the castle so bright and early?"

Rainbow gulped and broke a sweat. She walked forwards and placed the piece of paper on the desk. "This is for you," she uttered.

Twilight cocked a brow as she levitated the parchment and unfolded it. She read it with growing excitement. Twilight grinned with delight. "Oh Rainbow, of course I'll go on a date with you!"

Dash blushed. She's got a date for Thursday.

A cyan pegasus and a lavender alicorn trotted out of the castle with smiles on their faces. It was Thursday afternoon. They were going to "The Soaring", a fancy restaurant in the area. Within minutes, they came across that building. Rainbow rushed to the door and opened it. "After you, Twilight," she muttered.

The princess made her way inside. She winked at Dash, which made her blush. The cerulean pony slipped inside behind her date. A butter-colored earth pony stepped in front of them. "May I help you?" she asked.

Twilight spoke up. "Table for two, please."

The earth pony nodded and beckoned for the mares to follow. The friends trotted after her until they stopped at a table with two chairs. The two ponies got into their seats and started to take a look at the menus. The mare reached into her apron pocket and pulled out a small notepad. "Do you two know what you would like to drink?"

"Water, please," Twilight said politely.

"I'll have water too," Dash uttered.

The mare nodded again and trotted away. Twilight looked back at her menu, as did Rainbow Dash. As soon as they had both decided what to order, the waitress came back with a tray. The tray had two glasses of water. She set the glasses down and grabbed the notepad once more. "Have you two decided on what to eat, or should I come back later?" she asked politely.

"We'll both have salads," Twilight replied.

The mare smiled and walked away. The two mares found themselves staring at each other admiringly. They shook their heads and glanced down at the table. Dash blushed. She had never thought that she had liked Twilight this much. Soon, the waitress came back to their table with two bowls of salad on her back. She placed a few packets of poppyseed dressing in the middle of the table.

Setting the salads down in front of each mare, she waved a hoof. "I'll check on you in a little bit."

Twilight and Rainbow picked up their forks and started eating. The lavender alicorn smiled. "Thank you for bringing me here, Rainbow Dash. I haven't been here in ages."

Dash shrugged. "It's the least I could do. Anything for a friend."

The purple princess blushed. She levitated a fork full of lettuce toward herself and took a bite. Rainbow looked down at her bowl. She picked up the fork with a wing and started eating her salad. Not wanting to look silly, she kept eating at a minimum. Twilight giggled. "Rainbow, you're acting nervous."

"Because I am."

Now was the time that she does what she needed to do for months. She wanted to confess her feelings for Twilight. "Why are you nervous?" Twilight asked, cocking a brow.

Rainbow broke a sweat. She looked into Twilight's deep purple gaze. "Because... I've had a crush on you ever since I met you."

Twilight smiled. "Why didn't you say so? In fact, I'm glad to hear that."

Rainbow was surprised. "Wha-"

The purple princess continued. "Because I've had those feelings for you, too!"

Dash's eyes widened. "Why would you like some pony like me? You masked it pretty well, I must admit."

"Because you're attractive. Isn't it obvious? I like you more than I like books. A pony has to work really hard to surpass them for me."

Dash blushed more. Her jaw dropped. She likes her more than books? Rainbow thought that was impossible! A thought crossed her mind, and she blurted it out. "So, do you want to go on these dates more often?"

"Of course."

Twilight winked at her friend again. Rainbow giggled. With that, they left a tip, Twilight paid, and they walked out of the restaurant together.

"Again, thanks for taking me out, Rainbow. I enjoyed dinner."

"No problem."

Twilight leaned forward slowly. Rainbow, as if in a trance, leaned in as well. They both closed their eyes as their lips touched. They wrapped their hooves around each other as they opened their mouths for a deeper kiss.

They broke apart about half a minute later with a heavy blush on their faces. Twilight unwrapped her hooves, as did Dash. They both were breathing heavily. Rainbow grinned. "I'll see you tomorrow, Twilight."

"Same here, Rainbow Dash."

The princess turned and walked into her castle. Rainbow stopped her. "Twilight?"

She turned around with a loving smile on her face. "Yes, Rainbow?"

"I love you."

"I love you, too."
