Prelude

Chrysalis trotted down the stairs of her two story townhouse, following the scent of her husband's cooking.

"Mornin' Chryssie! Sleep well?" asked a cream colored stallion, his white mane slung to the side.

"Brilliantly, whatcha making?"

"Pancakes, your favorite, should be ready in a few. What tea in the meantime?"

"Sure!"

Chrysalis held her mug with two hooves, taking a sip every odd few moments before setting it down in a ray of the warm early sun. She was truly blessed, a house like this in a town like Ponyville, a husband like Cheese Cake, everything was right in here perfect little world.

"Here ya are." Said Cheese Cake, setting a plate of doughy disks soaked in syrup before her with an everlasting smile.

Just as she made the first cut into the small sea of soaked softness, she heard a knock at her door, only she had not commanded this knock, she had not wanted nor even expected this knock. A knock like this could only mean one thing, Luna.
