//------------------------------// // Are You Sure About That? // Story: Rainbow's Prank // by Crystal Ash //------------------------------// Twilight was walked back from Fluttershy's just in time to see Spike storm out the door and dump a large chest in the trash. She also saw a laughing Rainbow and Pinkie hiding behind a nearby bush. The alicorn pretended she didn't see her friends and walked in after Spike. "Hi, Spike! I'm back from the sleepover." Spike waved at her nonchalantly and continued grumbling to himself under his breath as he walked. Twilight watched him, concerned, as he disappeared around the corner. She raced back outside over to the bush where her friends where concealed. The pony stared at her laughing friends until Rainbow spotted Twilight. "Uh.. Pinkie?" Rainbow prodded her still-chortling friend. "OH! Did you see his face. It was so hil- huh? Oh. Hi. Twilight." Pinkie gave a sheepish grin. Twilight returned it with a look that could kill. "You two stay right here." Twilight shot one look back at them, then took off running and leaped, spreading her wings. Rainbow and Pinkie sat behind the bush, dumbfounded, until Pinkie came to her senses. "Um, shouldn't we go while we still can, Rainbow?" The blue pony turned to look at her friend. "No. You don't wanna know what happened last time I pranked her and ran." Rainbow shuddered at the memory. Pinkie looked at her friend. "Okey dokey then..." =~o~= Twilight knocked on the door of Carousel Boutique. Rarity answered the door. "Welcome to Carou- Twilight! Oh, darling, whatever is the matter?" "Remember how you said dolls would be a good present for Spike instead of the usual books? Well, it was a good idea." "Oh, really? And is that all? Well-" "Oh-ohoh, THAT'S not all. Rainbow and Pinkie pranked Spike and made him think his dolls moved around on his own! And he believed it! Well, that's my hypothesis. So can you take care of Spike while I interrogate them?" Rarity cleared her throat. "Oh, I suppose so. I was planning to go to the spa, so he can go with me. He will enjoy that, won't he?" "I'm sure he will." Twilight rolled her eyes. "I'll send him down here. Now, I have Rainbow and Pinkie waiting for me behind a bush. I have to go." Rarity looked at her, confused. "Don't ask." =~o~= "Best to deny everything," Rainbow whispered to Pinkie as Twilight landed. "You ponies have a lot of explaining to do." Twilight announced. "WE DIDN'T DO IT!" Pinkie Pie screamed happily. Rainbow facehoofed. Twilight raised an eyebrow. "So, Rainbow, looks like you're the first to be interrogated." Rainbow groaned. "Now, stay right there." Twilight trotted over to the castle and entered. "Spike! Rarity thought you might want to go to the spa with her today!" Spike was lying on the floor, his face smothered by a pillow, evidently unhappy. The little dragon got up and muttered, "About the only thing that could cheer this day up." Twilight put on a big smile and watched him as he walked out the door. =~o~= Rainbow followed Twilight into the castle. They entered the Cutie Map room and sat down on opposite sides of the table. "So. What were you doing with Spike's toys?" Twilight asked. Rainbow chewed on her hoof. "We didn't do nothing with those!" Twilight leaned forward. "The correct term is, 'We didn't do anything with those.' And, are you sure about that?" The blue pony sighed. "Well..." "I was flying by your castle yesterday morning when I saw Spike in a huff. Naturally, I stopped and listened. Oh, come on! Anypony would have done that! But anyway, once I figured out what he was in a huff about, I spotted the perfect opportunity for a prank! So I went and told Pinkie, my prank partner. And then we moved his dolls around before lunch, when he left the room, and before he woke up. Then we moved the chest, and I think that's about it. Can I go now?" The rainbow-maned pony began to zoom out the window, but Twilight caught her with magic, and brought her back to the chair. "You will go wait outside behind your bush. Tell Pinkie to come in here." Rainbow Dash swallowed and saluted. "Yes, ma'am!" =~o~= "-and then Rainbow Dash told me the like most perfectest idea ever in the history of perfect ideas and it was that we would move Spike's dolls around- and hey! Spike makes really good pancakes! Do you think he can make some for us! And oooh, I can help and they will be the bestest pancakes ever and I'll finally learnthe secret ingredi-" "No, Pinkie, you can't have pancakes right now." Twilight groaned and rubbed her temples while Pinkie salivated across the table. "Please continue." "-ent! And then we moved the dolls around and Spike's face was so funny, oh, you should have seen it! But anyway we moved the dolls around a couple times and then actually I took them home, they're really cute y'know, and so I took them home one night and played with them-" "OK! That concludes your interrogation." Twilight finished, frustrated. She teleported Rainbow Dash into the room. "Pinkie's finished already? I wonder why." The look on Rainbow's face said she knew exactly why. Twilight sighed, even more frustrated. "Anyway.. I have decided that you will take Spike's dolls out of the trash, get him more new ones, and explain and apologize to him. Got it?" "Uh, what makes you think you're the boss of us?" "Well, Spike is my assistant, and I'm the Princess of Friendship. This can be reviewed as a argument between friends. Anything else?" Rainbow and Pinkie shook their heads. "Good. Now, I'm going to go get Spike. Stay right here." =~o~= "Oh, Spike! Time to go home!" Twilight trilled. Spike groaned. "Aww. I just started my massage." Rarity cleared her throat. "Twilight's right, my dear Spikey Wikey. It's getting late. Buh-bye!" Spike waved to the fabulous pony as Twilight dragged him out of the spa. =~o~= "So what do you need?" Spike asked as they walked into the castle. "These two have something to tell you," Twilight said firmly, pointing to Rainbow and Pinkie. Rainbow began sheepishly, "Well..."
