The great and powerful trixie bent over on a rock. She was living in a small enclave underground. She had used her magic to start building it into a sort of house. There was a bed, made entirely of hay and wood, at the corner of her cave, a roaring fire in the middle of the room, and a small area where she kept keepsakes and photos of twilight sparkle. Trixie quietly sighed as she opened the door made of wood to go out and hunt for something to eat.
Trixie trotted around the forest, but there was no food that could be found anywhere. Suddenly there was a small noise that attracted her attention. She reared her head back and looked towards the direction of the noise.
Twilight sparkle and her friends were sitting by a small area with a huge roaring fire in the middle. They were having somekind of small gathering and they had with them marshmallows roasting in the fire.
Trixie observed carefully. "what's that pink one doing?" she asked herself as she squinted at the group. Pinkie was standing up and mimicking motions of what looked like a ghost. "and they were never seen from again. The end" she said taking a bow before sitting back down. "pfft you call that a story?" asked twilight. "I know one that would really scare you guys for sure!" she exclaimed.
"oh really?" asked rainbow dash. "exactly how much will it scare us?" asked the rainbow maned mare. "like make you have a heart attack scary..." said twilight creepily. Rainbow dash gulped. "I call it... The golden hoof" said twilight in a hushed tone.
"once upon a time there was a scientist. His name was richtofen. Richtofen was working on an experiment late one night. He was trying to make the very first ponymade electrical discharge across the sky. But things went wrong..." she said in almost a whisper.
"h-how w-wrong... ?" asked fluttershy fearfully. "very wrong..." said twilight. Fluttershy gulped and a chill was sent down everypony's spine. "you see, his assistant, Nikolai forgot to aim the device the right way, so instead of the discharge going through the sky... It blew off dr. Richtofen's right hoof..."
Applejack started to shiver and then she hid behind the log that she was sitting on, rarity used her magic to pull a blanket over her head, rainbow dash tried to put on a brave face but was quietly whimpering, and pinkie and fluttershy were now hiding behind a pillow that they brought.
"so dr. Richtofen had no choice but to make a new hoof, so he did. Only... The hoof was golden. He seemed to have forgotten one key ingredient for the hoof though... He forgot a brain... So that the arm could be more efficient... He went over to nikolai's house and... STABBED him in the head!! Over and over until his brains finally popped out!!" she said.
Rainbow now dropped her brave face and Dug her head into her two front hooves. "the doctor then put the brain into the hoof and it did prove to be more efficient... But... It was still nikolai's brain, so it wanted revenge..."
At this point all the ponies were either shivering in fear or whimpering. "one night when doctor richtofen was about to go to sleep... He took of his golden hoof and put it by his bed side... The next morning, he wouldn't come over to work so the police ponies showed up... In the report they say that there was nothing left but the doctor's glasses and a bloody golden hoof..." and now for the grand finale!! twilight thought to herself.
Twilight grabbed a flashlight and a bucket of water. She splashed the water onto the fire to make it go out. "some say... That the doctor still walks around ponyville... Looking for his missing hoof..." she said bone chillingly. "who... Who has my golden hoof..." twilight smiled.
"I think you do-aughhh!!" twilight was tackled down by something big and strong. Every pony screamed. Rainbow dash flew up into a tree and hid there, applejack simply stood there frozen in fear, fluttershy and rarity fainted, and pinkie pie tried to sing her no fear song as though thinking it would make the situation better. Twilight fumbled around with the flashlight and shone it to whatever just tackled her.
Trixie was sitting there trying to chomp at the bag of marshmallows. "trixie?!" they all exclaimed in unison. Trixie looked up at the group, but all she could pay attention to was the purple mare with the flashlight in her hooves. Trixie's cheeks started going red.
Twilight looked at trixie with big sparkling eyes. After the ursa minor came and destroyed trixie's caravan, she thought that she would never see trixie ever again. Tears started welling up in her eyes. Upon noticing this trixie panicked and tried to calm her down. "t-trixie is extremely s-sorry twilight sparkle! She did not mean t-to s-startle you!!" said trixie trying to calm her down. To trixie's surprise, twilight hugged her making her cheeks grow even redder than before.
Trixie and twilight had completely forgotten about the crowd that was guffawing at them. Trixie took notice of this and began to push twilight away, but at the same time wanted to hug twilight until the sun came up the very next day. Trixie began to hug twilight back, not caring about her friends. "Trixie is glad to see you twilight sparkle" said trixie giving her a warm friendly smile. Twilight returned the smile.
"umm twilight? Shouldn't we be getting home?" asked rarity. "umm yeah! You go I'll meet you up in a bit" twilight said . "trixie I thought I'd never see you again..." said twilight. Trixie looked at her slyly. "you say that almost like a lover, twilight sparkle..." said trixie blushing but at the same time with a smug grin. Twilight's cheeks flushed pink and she started to think of a way out. "umm I mean of course I thought I'd never see you again! I was... Concerned for your safety! Yes that's it! I was concerned for your safety!!" said the purple mare. Trixie still stood there with a smug grin.
"anyway if you ever need anything just come by to ponyville!" said twilight. "huh? Come by to ponyville? It must be way too far to walk all the way there!!" said trixie. "nope! It's actually only a mile or two away!" said twilight. Trixie pondered at this. "c'mon let me show you" said twilight.
It turns out that twilight was right it only took a short half hour to get to ponyville. "now trixie, are you sure you don't wanna come over? I mean living all the way out in the woods could be dangerous" said twilight. Trixie looked at her annoyed. "the great and powerful trixie can handle herself!" she said. "ok just make sure to come by and visit ok?" asked twilight. "but if course!" said trixie. Twilight turned around and walked away. Trixie stood there for a moment watching her plot before she finally went back to her little enclave.
