A Date!

Cheese walked towards a garden of flowers, all were either small or big. But they were all beautiful. It was just so hard for Cheese to choose. There were so many. All with their own style and color.

Suddenly a small crystal filly walked up behind him, "Excuse me, are you trying to pick a flower?"

Cheese shrieked to the floor, "Oh uh, yeah! Sorry I'm just trying to pick a perfect flower for my date."

The filly giggled, "Silly you, all these flowers are perfect. I bet any flower you pick will make your fillyfriend very happy."

He giggled, "Alright little filly, I trust you. But if I may ask, what flower would you think she would like?"

The little one rolled her eyes, "Well it depends mister! What is she like?"

Cheese dazed up to the sky, "I can't even put her into words. She's beautiful, funny, and a kind-hearted filly."

The filly looked at her pots of flowers, any could fit his description. But this one had to be absolutely perfect. As she scanned through every flower petal and size, she squealed. "This one!"

Cheese walked over to the filly as she handed him the bouquet of light lavender and pink roses that shimmered as he looked at it. It was perfect. He immediately grabbed 5 bits from his pocket to give to the filly. With the small thank you from the sweet filly he dashed off to the castle to meet his date.

Pinkie shot up as a light knock was heard at her front door. "Coming!"

She smiled, "Oh Cheese! Did you get the mat-"

She stood there in silence once she had noticed a bouquet a flowers Cheese was holding. She blushed. Is this what I think it is..?

Cheese slightly blushed, "Hey Pinkie..I know this is a weird and sudden thought, and you can decline if you'd like but.."

He looked down, "I was wondering if you'd like to go on a date with me?"

Pinkie's heart felt like it was going to burst,"Um.."

Cheese's heart dropped, "Sorry sorry, just forget it ever happened."

Pinkie tugged him back, "No! No! It wasn't a no silly.." She looked away, "You just caught me by surprise. I'd love to though, but what about the party?"

Cheese pulled off a slight smile, "Don't worry about it, it wouldn't hurt the party if we just take a break right?"

"Yeah..you're right. Let's go then!" Pinkie grabbed his hoof.

~~~~~~~~~
Shoot, I didn't really plan the date before I picked her up! Cheese sweated as he walked side by side by the pink mare.
Pinkie drew her eyes over to Cheese, "Soo, what were your plans for the date anyways?"
Cheese gulped, "Ehe..well; I kinda don't have anything planned. But let's just see where the day takes us!"
The two trotted towards a picnic area by a tree on a hill. Cheese sighed to himself. Picnics? That's the best I can do?
"Sorry if it isn't very romantic, picnics are the easiest things to set up ya know?"
Pinkie humbly smiled, "Hey as long as I get to spend time with you, I think we'll be fine."
A slight blush spread across the stallion's face.
Pinkie giggled. No matter what you do, you always manage to make things romantic.
After their picnic, the two party ponies walked through town as they watched the decorations be put up. Even when on their date, they manage to still check on the party. It didn't get in the way with their activities though. The two ponies giggled with small jokes they made with each other. From Cheese's last visit, the two never really got close to each on a closer level. Today was just the day for it. They spent their time walking through the streets of the Crystal Empire talking of their dislikes, likes, and even their past. Both never knew how close they can really be till then.
Pinkie looked down to the ground, "I'm sorry for what happened. I didn't know how hard it was for you back then. You know, if I lived in Manehatten, I would hang out with you everyday!"
With a soft smile, he gently nuzzled Pinkie on her muzzle. "I know you would, and that's what I like about you."
A steam of heated red shot up to Pinkie's face. She quickly turned away to touch her muzzle. You know, maybe this relationship can work. Unless he manages to make me blush till I explode!
As the day slowly ended, Cheese felt a nudge by his shoulder. It was soft like a light feather. It was Pinkie hesitating to stay awake. You're even adorable when you try to stay awake. "Let's get you to bed, I don't want you to be too tired."
Pinkie nuzzled by his shirt as they slowly walked to their room. She slowly mumbled, "Mm okie dokie."
As Cheese put Pinkie down on her bed, he knelt down to kiss her on the forehead. While he shifted away he felt a tug from behind.
Pinkie managed to spit out a few sleepy words, "Hey Cheese, are we a couple now? Cause I had a fun time with you today."
Cheese hesitated. A couple huh? He shook his head, and smiled; "Yeah, I believe we are."
Pinkie's eyes slowly shut as she smiled into her sleep.
Cheese quietly closed the door as he sighed. Everything was perfect.
He trotted down the steps to lastly check the decorations. Two stallions jumped off the ladder as they walked towards Cheese.
One stallion groggily walked towards their home as one other walked up to Cheese.
"All the decorations are finally done!" The stallion cheered.
Cheese gleamed at the stallion, "That's great! Wow, today is just going phenomenal!"
The stallion looked at Cheese with a smirk, "I can tell, I saw you and your lady friend walk around town a couple of times."
Cheese laughed nervously as he blushed, "Yeah we had a gr-"
The stallion cut him off, "That's really brave of you two you know."
Cheese stammered at the statement. "I uh, what do you mean by that?"
The stallion scoffed, "Well your relationship! Surely it's gonna be super hard when you leave isn't it? I heard you're a no stay in one place kind of party pony. And with a long distance relationship, 90 percent of them don't even work out that well."
Cheese stood with nothing to say. What could he say? As he took in the stallion's words he felt weak. He's right, there's no possible way this could work. What was I thinking! I can't do this to Pinkie.
"I have to go." Cheese ran from the confused stallion. As he laid on his bed he looked up at the ceiling. Unable to process the stallion's words as they echoed through him. I wouldn't be able to be there for most of her life. I can't have her life unhappy because of me. I don't know what I can do.
As he closed his eyes, he still thought back to the stallion's words. They lingered throughout his head. All he wanted was to make Pinkie happy. And to make somepony happy, a sacrifice has to be made. He thought back to Pinkie. I'm sorry.
